They will never get it, how useless all this complaining is, they are ungrateful for all that they have, if it isn't 100% about them, they aren't happy, NEWSFLASH PEOPLE, NOTHING REVOLVES AROUND YOU!!!
Yeah, but if you would have checked you facts, you would know that they didn't start the 1.8 snapshots until January! And 1.8 came out in September, so 9 months
the time it took to get from 1.7 to 1.8 was 10 to 11 months which is way too long for a game update which added nothing... i dont care when they started i care how long it took one update to the next...
but nice quad post real cool

Would you rather they have updates every month or two, making it difficult for mod creators to constantly be updating? Obviously you would, because you're oh so demanding of a little game updating to fit your busy schedule.

It seems that you haven't read echonite's post: "You can't use 1.7 release as the start of 1.8 development, because it wasn't." And what you said was stupid, because it's not like Mojang immediately starts working on the next big update, right after finishing that one. It's not the time between the two big updates that counts, it's the time they actually spent working on the next big update, as well as how much new content was added, because they have to fix bugs and relax before starting development on a large update. Stop trying to find bad things about 1.8. We can see how small your non-stop counter arguments are becoming.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

Please consider this. Microsoft just dropped 2 BILLS on Mojang so that they could get Minecraft. Even for Microsoft that's a fairly large expenditure for one thing.
So if you don't think they are paying someone outside of Mojang to monitor social media in order to audit the public's opinions on Minecraft and customer satisfaction then you are sadly mistaken. Notch and Mojang may have long ago decided to stop paying attention to what they themselves list as the Official Minecraft Forum and play on Reddit instead, but I guarantee someone else working for Microsoft is seeing the nonstop attention these multiple complaint threads have been producing for months now.
I rather suspect Mojang has already been politely nudged which is why they are promoting this new experimental launcher. I'm sure they told MS not to worry because its all just a Java problem, and that the percentage still affected by the lag after updating to Java8 64bit (or those still with 32bit OS's) will be too small a percentage to care about...
So far it looks like they are wrong though. Heck, the new launcher insta-crashes on my old system. I believe the number of people that remain affected will still be a sizable percentage of people and noise will keep being made. Hopefully enough noise to make MS "offer" Mojang the assistance of a professional developer or two...

no amount of additional pylo... devs will suffice for ppl inability to install and use software on their own computers. c`mon if installing 64bit java and tweaking some params are beyond grasp of average mc player then no amount of ms officials will remedy this situation. only thing to do is scrap everything and release simpler "console-like" version. thx, but NO thx.
Um, that's the entire point.. Installing 64bit Java8 does NOT fix the lag for everyone. The lag we are talking about suddenly appeared in a snapshot right before the full 1.8 release. So before that point the game did not have that particular "water-lag" yet DID have most all features of 1.8. So this has nothing to do with "Stupid" users...

Mojang also said they are working on having their own Java for Minecraft, so no one will have to waste their time downloading to 64bit and everyone will be as optimized as possible.

Exactly.
They never once said the new launcher and portable java was intended to fix the 1.8 lag, but onl, and I mean ONLY to resolve a LONG standing issue for many years where people would use incompatable versions of java with improper versions of the game. This has been an issue for YEARS. So please stop spouting baseless claims of it being a "fix" for 1.8 lag. Its never was.

Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
They are working on more optimizations for lag in the latest pre-releases. If no one can stand lag, go to video settings and turn. down. the SETTINGS! There are new settings in 1.8, which add lag, so turn them off!

APPLAUSE, PEOPLE!
Not as simple as that for some. Even with settings turned to the lowest possible, despite having good computers, the game still lags for unknown reasons.

never heard of that case. every user whom I helped upgrading to 64bit java and explained memory params noticed huge performerce boost.
those ones you are talking about - ppl with lagging machines even after software upgrade, probably need to clean their computers from malware or other viruses. neither me nor anyone else in the world cannot be resposible for that. and certainly no amount of additional devs from ms can keep ppl from clicking every link and infecting their computers with every possible virus. yep. problem is between keyboard and monitor.
What a stunningly ignorant post. Why you would argue with people when it's very obvious that you haven't looked into this issue at all is beyond me.
What MineCrak and others are describing is a real problem that's effecting a very large number of people. Read some of the other threads and polls about it before you accuse people of messing things up on their PCs, by failing to properly update their anti-virus and java.
The problem is with Minecraft itself. People have even tested the new lighting mechanics and confirmed there is a problem. Their results have been posted on these forums and elsewhere.
Would you rather they have updates every month or two, making it difficult for mod creators to constantly be updating? Obviously you would, because you're oh so demanding of a little game updating to fit your busy schedule.
That's pretty true, the fact that 1.8 is so lame is beneficial to modders because it's not really worth making mods for.
Microsoft has nothing to do with this. They own Mojang but all of the Mojang staff (minus Notch, Carl and one other (they weren't working on Minecraft anyways)) still works on this game. No new devs from Microsoft have done anything yet. In fact, Microsoft hasn't done anything at all for Minecraft - all we know is they own Mojang. Plus 1.8 was made before the acquirement.

Bukkit will never be made official. And from a vanilla standpoint, we have all the server control we need. Modded servers require modded controls.
