Nice idea. Bad implementation. Taming them is so easy it is amost useless to have coded in that "feature".
I don't like the taming-as-pets-only part. Rabbitd should work and behave as normal farm animals, and ANOTHER item to turn them into real pets that actually do something apart from being an annoyance in your way.
For now at least. Mod API should be around the corner, and after that the forum is going to crash due to all the new posts praising it.
As for the rabbits, all those vague and redundant posts in Suggestions finally made a difference. I'm also interested in how taming rabbits will work, because Ryan Holtz said that you'll be able to do that.
I'm never following the white rabbit... their eyes are red, the evil colour.

I love the rabbit addition. But, like so many others, I agree with the fact that the rabbits need to be changed to a 'farm-type' animal instead of purely a 'pet-type' animal. The mass teleportation is hair-pulling annoying!
I'd like to see them as static mobs that can be breed with carrots or dandelions and only be tamed with golden carrots. And, given a way to sit down!! Or, at least remove teleportation as an option from their bag of tricks!!!
Also, while I'm thinking out-loud so to speak .. I really wish Name Tags would stop time/aging because I would really love to have a good dozen baby bunnies hopping around my yard permanently. The baby bunnies are just so adorable!
They must get rid of the teleportation! Every time I leave my base and come back, all of the leads in my bunny pen break and they all teleport to me. Usually I just run back and tie them all up again, but sometimes they die. Recently I came back from a long trip and absentmindedly entered my base through my cactus farm.

So far I've lost five rabbits who teleported into cacti and six rabbits who teleported into the tree-tops of a jungle and vanished, probably from fall damage, as I've noticed that rabbits will willingly jump off cliffs to their deaths. I just tried improvising a new solution by using minecarts instead of leads to stop the teleporting, but while this seems to have reduced the number of incidents, I actually had some bunnies teleport out of their minecarts and into a cactus. So right now it looks like I'm just going to have to either give up my bunnies or give up minecraft until they fix this.
I was hoping they could eat carrots from fields. between them doing that and villagers one could try to make a bunny spawning system.
Also leashing them currently acts as a way to keep them from teleporting, but that is kind of annoying.
But leads break. Every time you reload the chunk by leaving your base and coming back, some or all of the leads break. It's maddening! I've lost a dozen rabbits that teleported into hazards and all of them were attached to leads. I even lost some that were inside minecarts, which are supposed to have the same effect as leads in preventing teleportation.
According to the wiki, they do eat carrots from fields, but as far as I can tell, this doesn't help them breed or anything.

mod API will be amazing
That is from 255 rabbits.
Praise be to Spode.
This is complete genocide
