To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
I was at Minecon 2016 and the vast majority of the attendees were children. There were quite a few adults and teens there as well, but the children outnumbered us by a fair amount.
As for the presentation of Minecon Earth, it was okay. It was similar to the opening and closing ceremonies at Minecon 2016. Same type of corny humor and silly skits aimed at children. You can find the opening and closing ceremonies for past Minecons on YouTube. Give them a watch and you'll see.

I'm pretty sure to get in a child had to be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian to get in, so that means that only 50% or less could be children. If I'm mistaken please correct me though.

What is wrong about Minecon being directed towards children? It's a game designed for children.
I'm going to stop you right there...
Do you really think when Notch was releasing Indev updates he thought "Oh, this game's for kids"? Minecraft's audience had far more adults/teens playing back in the Beta days, which obviously shows that the game was directed at ALL AGES.
But yes, we should direct Minecraft (especially Minecon) to teens and adults more.

Minecon (& Minecraft in general) being redirected towards children has great potential to ruin the game for adults.
There is much content that is actually unsuitable for young children (nor am I taking about nudity etc.); I am somewhat surprised there has yet too be a push to nerf the Wither as "too scary"...
There is an even larger body of content that (in a litigation adverse corporate world) might conceivably be "unsuitable for young children" (e.g. sharks, parrots/cookies) that we will not have in vanilla because of this.
Also, (with rare exceptions) young children do not have the attention span or capacity for long term planning needed to acheive things many adults will find challenging but "doable" (e.g. Nether hub base with ice roads and integral wither farm, anyone?).
As the game marketing strategy is changed toward little kids, expect to see "more flash & less cash" i.e. 'pretty' updates that have little functionality.

I did not attend, but would be surprised if this policy was interpreted to prevent one parent from "accompanying" more than one child…

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.

It was pretty much one adult to at least two children. There was also a large VIP group from something like the Make a Wish Foundation out of Australia that was there with several children and a handful of chaperones. It would be interesting to see what the actual statistics of children, teens, and adults were.
Did anyone attend a viewing party at a Microsoft Store or some other event? If so, what would you say the ratio of Children to Adults was for the event you attended?
I watched some highlights of Minecon this year...
I think this is becoming more directed at children. Anyone else agree?
real big goober guy over here

Yeah, agreed
