This message is for Minecon organizers...there are 2 major complaints about Minecon...tickets are too expensive nearly impossible to get!
Why offer a 2-day pass for $160 instead of 1 day passes for $80 each day? This makes it more affordable for people to go...and gives more people a chance to experience Minecon?!?!?!? Seems like an easy solution????
Next to nobody would want to go only one day. It's not the same thing twice, each day is separate and different. I've never been, though, so I couldn't specify.
Well then, you just buy tickets for both days! I'm just talking about giving people some options. Not everyone can afford $160. And then you open it up to more people so they at least have a chance to go. Maybe one day wouldn't be worth it for some (like the older kids who know better and the super-fans), but as a parent taking my younger kids, trust me...they would be ecstatic to even have the chance to go for one day (and wouldn't be the wiser!).

There's no point in purchasing tickets for both days as $80 + $80 = $160.

I post pretty rarely nowadays. Gosh, I wish this place weren't so... empty...
Every other convention that I have ever attended has had a one-day pass available. So, I understand what the original poster was asking for. I think the problem though is that Minecon is really an International Event, not a localized convention. People are going to be travelling there from all around the world, and they are not going to want to attend for a single day. The only people who would really attend for a single day would be those that live nearby.
In my opinion, there should be more than one Minecon a year. In the US, one on the east coast and one on the west coast. One should be held in Europe, One in Asia, one in Australia, etc... Believe me, they would all sell out every year and give everyone a chance to attend.
One day tickets are a great idea, but with Minecon being the way it currently is, a single day ticket would be difficult to do because of the people flying in from all over the world to attend. They can only sell so many tickets due to regulations with the venue hosting the event, and the number of resources that are available for people to use at any one time.
For those who want to buy 1 day, you buy 1 day; for those that want both days, you buy both days. Flexibility.
I do get what you're trying to convey, but considering that day 2 is just a continuation of day 1, it's as if you went to half a day of a full day convention. It is rather pointless, is it not? And as LloydAZ mentioned, it would be very difficult to keep track of all the one day vs two day tickets. I do wish they could sell them, but I can't see it happening.
