Looking at the pattern of the past Minecons(Also, what potions are YOU drinking, people who said it's been in the US "Multiple times"? Twice BARELY constitutes "Multiple times" when this will only be the FOURTH official Minecon coming up in July. Before that was UNOFFICIAL, and for intents and purposes I won't count a single gathering of a small-ish group of people in one local area as MineCon), I think it IS safe to say that Minecon 2016 will, very LIKELY, take place in the US... BUT, it's ultimately Mojang's call as to where it happens.
That said, I would think, say, Tokyo would be far FAR more likely to happen than Australia, simply because it's a HUGE place where a LOT happens.
But that wouldn't be my suggestion. And I don't feel I could easily suggest where I'm living now, since the first OFFICIAL Minecon happened here, so my vote would be Dallas, TX. - The airport is fairly large, and I do believe it brings in international flights, plus it's a pretty big hub city.
Also, one final note, to the person who said Minecon is a clone of Bloxcon... All conventions, you could say, are clones of the original Star Trek conventions, and each other, up to and including Bronycon, BotCon, ComiCon, Anime Expo, DragonCon, and Otacon, need I keep listing? Your argument about Minecon being a clone is invalid, sir or ma'am, as if it exists, a convention dedicated to it can and possibly DOES exist.
he says it is a copy of bloxcon because bloxcon is for roblox and he is upset that mc has its own con

By that logic, Trekkies/Trekkers should be upset that everything else has a convention of its own, when they essentially started the concept of a fandom-based convention. I don't hear any of them whining, so I fail to see it as more than being pouty.
So two out of three of them so far is 66.6% recurring. Not only is that multiple times, it's the majority.
Will 75% of all Minecons be enough to convince you that its been multiple times? No thank you, give the rest of us a chance.
I'm not sure what your reply to the second quote of my post has to do with what you're replying to. Seriously, following the given pattern, my proposal is Dallas, and you say 75% of all Minecons... Just... WHAT? Literally, "The first official Minecon was hosted here, so I suggest this OTHER large city" followed up by "Will this be enough to convince you it's multiple times?" I fail to understand how you can follow my suggestion
up with THAT.
Also, July will still mark the fourth official Minecon - And that makes 50% in the US, 50% in Europe. This is a discussion about 2016, at least a year away, yes, but this is also speculation, and as I said - MOJANG will make the final call. If they decide to host it in Antarctica, there's not a glorious lot we'll be able to do about it. Other than, yano... Whine. We'll all do it, for one reason or another.
Remember that this is all SPECULATION, and WHIMSICAL WISHING from EVERYBODY, I certainly don't appreciate your moaning and whining about how UNFAIR it is that people are speculating about US cities, following Mojang's patterns, and not giving a hint in your post that you've considered that Mojang could pick ANYWHERE that THEY please. It's still THEIR final choice, and they could choose the middle of Russia for all we know. I thought this was a thread for some fun speculation, apparently I was wrong and it's actually SRS BZNS.

You dont make up the rules Plus its been in america twice So give europeans a chance, Also earlier last year jeb went to Melbourne Australia so he could have been scouting for 2016, This was after 2015 London news was released so 2016 could infact be australia.
um seriously, it is happening in London this year, then until the 2016 one they will be tied, and the rest of the world hasn't got it yet “give europeans a chance” you aren't the only people in the world, and you got 1 of the only 3 chances so far.
I think minecon should be in Australia, Sydney because it's in the top 100 biggest cities in the world, it has plenty of airports that take flights from all over the world, people can see the beautiful Bondi beach, it has a lot of attractions such as the opera house, Taronga zoo, and the harbour bridge.did I mention it's a country that is a whole continent and it's the largest island in the world. Also Sydney has a population of 4-5 million. And nearly every single person I know plays or knows about minecraft.
I always wanted to go to minecon but it is always so far away my mom said she will take me if it is close so can it be at us bank arena in Cincinnati Ohio
If it was in Cincinnati I'd be in luck because I'm in Dayton
I want it to be in Chicago so then its less travel for me and a lot easer, I really hope its in Chicago then I can stay at family while I Go Plz let me be Here Fingers Crossed
My ideas for Minecon 2016. Keep in mind that I really don't care where it ends up, as long as I keep my Minecon streak going (2010 through 2015). I believe Minecon is an "excuse" for me to travel, and allows me to intermingle (once I get there) with other Minecrafters and Youtubers. So, here I go:
Chicago, Illinois, USA
Location: This is the inevitable city that I honestly can say is the top contender for Minecon 2016, with good reasoning too. For starters, Chicago's location. Smack dab in the Northern-half of the Midwestern United States, so U.S. and Canadian drivers wouldn't have to drive for hours, and spend hundreds at the tank. Regarding air travel, Chicago's International airport is the second-largest airport in the world I presume (correct me if I'm wrong), and takes flights from all over the world. So anyone outside the U.S. would have ease getting in, and wouldn't have to "hop flights". So Chicago gets an A- for Location/Travel.
Hotels/Cuisine:Chicago is one of the most diverse cities in the Midwest (with barely any other cities to choose from), and has TONS of places to eat and dine. So that gives it yet another boost. Hotels are a bit tricky though. You DON'T want low grade ones for their location is relatively safe, so you may have to buy big with hotels. Chicago gets a B+ for Cuisine/Hotels.
Attractions: I personally have been to Chicago once, and I can tell you that you won't find a day without having something to do in the Windy City. From museums to theme parks. It has it all. I WILL NOT list them all... which is a good thing. Chicago gets an A-.
Review: Chicago pretty much bundles every city into one, however, there are plenty of places to choose from, and I'll be listing them below.
United States:
New England:
Philadelphia
Pittsburg
New York
Boston
Washington D.C.
Midwest:
Kansas City
Cincinnati
Chicago
Minneapolis
Green Bay
West Coast:
Seattle
L.A.
San Francisco
Portland
Phoenix
San Diego
The South
Atlanta
Miami
Destin
Houston
Ft. Worth/Dallas
Charleston
Savannah
Europe:
United Kingdom
Italy
Sweden
Germany
France

The Double Minecon
This is something I've been cooking around in my head for a while. Is there a possibility in the future for there to be two Minecons in one year? With a large, yearning population in the Australian/New Zealand areas for a Minecon, and with the rapid growth of Minecraft. Is there any chance we may see two Minecons, in two complete opposite sides of the globe? I mean, if Microjang is worried about money, they just got bought out by Microsoft for $2.2B. Plus, they're getting money back FROM Minecons. That's the only con I see. We can see a Winter Minecon in New York and a Spring Minecon in Australia. Who knows? Leave your thoughts on this idea below and help expand on it!
Australia"Con"
I'm going to be blunt here, but keep dreaming on it. Very unlikely this is going to happen (but... who knows? It may happen) without some sort of "Double Minecon" like I mentioned before. There is just not enough to support a Minecon in Australia. Mid-sized Minecraft population in the region, extremely expensive prices regarding travel and food, and this goes on. Don't get me wrong, the past four times I've been to Australia has never stopped impressing me. It's just the fact that so many Aussies are pushing for Minecon in the "land down under" when there isn't much "interest" in the community for there to be a Minecon in the region. It will happen, just not now. Again, I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's unlikely for next year.

"Not Enough Support" Brff Everyone here has Minecraft, haven't met anyone who hasn't. A Minecon in Australia wouldn't just be Australia it would be New Zealand, Indonesia, the Asia-Pacific. And it usually cheaper to fly overseas to these place here than to other cities (Darwin <--> Melbourne) in the country. I don't see your logic!
