I like the idea of a username change, but I'm afraid the execution. Every concept has a glitchy beta stage, and with a community like Minecraft that can seamlessly edit game code, the genesis of username changes invites all the more hacking.
As for the skin change, I'm new so ... *awkward shrug*
this would be horrible people would be like omg thats so coool imma go do it now they change it and realize that whenever you change your username you lose everything you have ever had to do with any server for example you would be a new player on a server with a new username and you would lose you permissions becouse all permissions managers save your permissions to your username, so if anyone changed to your old username they could get all of your permissions, not to mention you could unban youself from all servers at once (unless your ip banned). so in conclusion this is a terrible i dea and is likely to never happen.
I disagree with changing Minecraft Usernames. By changing the username the player, if not IP banned, can access servers that he/she was previously banned from. Admittedly, this can also be done via an alt, but it's a lot harder and more expensive to create an alt than a username change. While some say that a charge should be put on username changes, once more I vote no. Changing usernames is a generally bad idea.
I believe they will be making each player have a "player ID" which will keep track of each player, regardless if they change their name. So, by banning a user's ID, that player will be banned from a server even if they change their name.

Might I say that that it'll definently be a possibility in the future although there is a chance that they won't allow us to change it. Reason is because than the whole changing our username thing will become out of control later on. With people wanting to copy everyone else. I think the only way to change a username is to talk to Mojang confidentially and then give Mojang a GOOD reason why they should like for example: For cyber bullying reasons or something like that.

I'm sorry, but I despise this idea of changing names. Sure, I regret my name, and more so down the track because I chose it from what bullies used to call me, but honestly let's look at the pros and cons of this.
1. You can have a cool new username.
1. Server Owners can't ban you if you change your name.
2. It is morally confusing for people to distinguish you.
3. It's going to cause many problems down the track, whether system overloads at Mojang, or debates of innapropriateness.
This is why I don't condone this new idea Jeb brought to mind, it's just plain horrible and will lead to a new level of griefing.
I also agree with that. But maybe if someone got banned, it bans the account instead of just banning the username. If Jeb could possibly do that, it might solve the banning problem..
look at my name ...
its my very old gaming name that made alot of sence in the game of that time
now i regret having buyed that name in minecraft
changing name once should be able to for free
or just once a year
more changing should be payed
we have an say so
a dunky never hit a stone twice
making an error is possible
making the same error twice is foolish
let me change my name......
What game was it.
(My younger are chuckling right now!!)
I do agree with this. But there is some Pros/Cons.
Pros: New usernames!
Cons: Owners will not know who you are.
You cannot be banned if you change it all the time.
Jeb. Make it so that like you have a special ID which makes you THAT player. Like if I changed my IGN to SquidTheDiamond. It would still be my current account stuff. Like my # would be the same. Just a different name. If you do add this, consider what I said helpful? Please? Peace!
