redstone can help learn about logic circuits & 'electrical' designing
The Creative mode is educational in learning how to build structures & interior designing (especially if you add Mods that add 'normal' furniture like toilets, kitchens etc)
You can learn about survival & breeding, farming & how to trade
If you wish to explore and learn a little coding along the way that's a good thing.
Murder and pillage are not good things!!! This grandparent would revoke your permission if you told me you wanted to explore and learn to code; then play strictly combat!
Maybe you could ask your parents if they'd let you keep minecraft if you got it yourself for free.
Get minecraft yourself for no price like my friend did by grinding microsoft points, buying a walmart gift card with them, and then buying minecraft using the gift card.

Yeah I would recommend doing something like this OP. There's other reward programs too, just make sure it's online and isn't some form of scam.
I'm trying to get Minecraft Java but my parents are strict and I don't know if they'll say yes. Can someone help me?

Either come up with something persuasive or say all your friends have it and you feel left out, idk, depends on your parent's behavior.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Be honest with them!
If you intend to murder and pillage tell them so.
