This is probably going to seem like a weird question to most of you.
I haven't played Minecraft for a while and want to start a new world. I like survival, but I always have a problem with it: my building ambitions are too great for my limited building talent and patience. So I end up "cheating" and think "I'll just build this awesome thing in creative, then I can get back to survival." But the more I use creative, the more pointless it feels. What's the point of the game if not to collect materials and build with them?
I don't think I have the patience for 100% survival. My main motivation for playing is building big things, and without much talent, doing so takes a huge amount of trial and error.
So I'm looking for suggestions to find the right way to balance survival and creative. Does anyone else have this problem?
Perhaps the ideal thing would be a mod that only lets you use your survival inventory resources to build with in creative mode. Then I'd still have to collect everything I need, I'd just speed up the building process a bit. Does anything like that exist? If not, maybe someone else has been in this position and came up with some rules to set themselves to get the right balance?
