Recently, i lost my favorite dog Called Spelunky on a simple survival server. Admins told me that its possible with commands to teleport him back but they dont know how the command looks like. We tried /tp @e [name=Spelunky ([email protected])] Rogir_ but it doesnt work.
The dog Is called "Spelunky ([email protected])" i always add my email to nametags so when the animal gets lost, there is a chance that someone finds him and can send me an email about where it is.
If he was still standing and you get within about 500 blocks to him he should teleport to you automatically.
If you accidentally made him sit, you're screwed. You have to find the exact spot and un-sit him.
Go back and revisit the last few places you were.
I'm pretty sure that you can teleport wolves that are sitting, which only inhibits their normal AI, which teleportation bypasses; otherwise, the chunks have to be loaded and you'll only get 500 blocks if the view distance is 32 chunks (512 blocks) and most servers are much lower (the default is 10 chunks or 160 blocks).
Also, according to this Reddit post you need to put quotes around the name if it has spaces (there also must not be a space between @e and [):
That's why I'd recommend sitting the wolf inside of a building next time, to ensure they don't go unnoticed or would be lost. That worked on one of my old survival worlds and that was in Java.

Not to my knowledge, the point of sitting a wolf is so they don't move from their spot.
If you kept having sitting wolves teleporting to your location, this would be a nuisance as they can get in the way of you while you are doing tasks.
This has never happened on any of my worlds, if it did I would have to kill a large number of wolves to get them out of the way, and I'm afraid the OP is screwed if they don't remember the general area where the wolf was last time.

There is a huge difference between the wolf teleportation AI and the /tp command - the latter definitely will teleport all entities, even ones which normally can't even move (e.g. item frames):
If you're not opposed to cheats, you can theoretically teleport just your wolves with a series of three commands:
What this does is sets up a scoreboard to select your wolves, sets it for all wolves that are sitting, and teleports those wolves to you.
Alternatively, you could teleport all wolves with just one command:
As you can see, you can indeed use the /tp command to teleport sitting wolves, even just ones that are sitting (or with a specific name like the OP is trying to do). The only reason why it wouldn't work is because they need to be in loaded chunks (distance depends on the server view distance):
Keep in mind, though, this will only work for wolves in loaded chunks. So you're going to need to be within about 8 chunks of where your wolves were last, and also in the same dimension. But if you know approximately where they are, within several hundred blocks, and are open to cheating, this would work.

The dog was standing when i seen him last time.
Any ideas what we are doing wrong?

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
If he is far away from you sitting you cant bring him back .....there is also a chance that he has perished
He must be out of a loaded chunk. TP only works when the entity your teleporting is in a loaded chunk.
You could also use a java plugin to search the world for his UUID. do you have his UUID recorded?

The dog was found on accident by one player. Thanks for replies anyway.
