So basically i tend to leave my Minecraft online and go afk but when I do that for long periods of time the logs it saves take up sooo much space on my computer and i want to disable it so it doesnt take up much space but im not sure if its possible
48G is outrageous for a latest.log file. Mine never get more than 20K or so. Do you have a lot of mods running? I can't imagine what is putting that much information into that log file.
If you delete it, how long does it take it to get that big again?
What are the contents of the file (I doubt anything can open that file but you delete it and play for a while to create a new, smaller file)? This could be because the game is spamming errors, as happened in this case (due to a corrupt world, other worlds did not cause the issue).
1. Drag the current copy (right-click-drag) of the world I plan to play (the world as it was before my last exploration) from the Desktop to C:\UserName\AppData\Roaming\minecraft\TempStorage (I created this directory).
2. Drag a copy (right-click-copy) of the world I plan to play (the current world as it exists now) from C:\UserName\AppData\Roaming\minecraft\saves to my Desktop (I have 2 emergency backups should I fall into lava),
3. Check and delete anything found in C:\UserName\AppData\Roaming\minecraft\crash-reports.
4. Check and delete everything with a date (YYYY-MM-DD-#.log.gz) found in C:\UserName\AppData\Roaming\minecraft\logs
5. Open Minecraft and explorer/build to my heart's content knowing that anything catastrophic can easily be undone!!!
Had you done that you could have restored (copied what is on the desktop) to C:\UserName\AppData\Roaming\minecraft\saves and lost nothing except the time it took you to fall into the lava,
& as for mods i only have these 2 which makes no sense
And another bit of general information, I AFK on a public mc server
and i AFK over night
Yeah, neither of those should be causing that log file to be that big. When you open that log file, are there a lot of errors in it? I'm very curious about what is in the file.
As another poster said, you may have a corrupt world that could be filling up your log file with errors.

Not that I can find.

Open your options.txt file, and look for an entry called "glDebugVerbosity". What is that set to?

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Just before I begin playing MC, I
1. Drag the current copy (right-click-drag) of the world I plan to play (the world as it was before my last exploration) from the Desktop to C:\UserName\AppData\Roaming\minecraft\TempStorage (I created this directory).

That is realy impressive!
I didn't know computers can save log files that big.
My pc wouldn't be able to open the log file if i let it try hard for weeks!
I know, mine is realy a bad one but...
I don't mean it ironic, i hope you can fix this issue.
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
