Hello, players today I come to present my theory about the Phantom and you know what it is because it says it in the title :/
But ... What are the foundations of my theory?
Well ... As everyone knows the Creeper is a silent mob, or how many times did a Creeper blow up their house without realizing it? Many times no? Something similar happens with skeletons, how many times did a random skeleton kill them without realizing it or attack them? Many times no?
Well, what I want to get to ... is that perhaps the character due to lack of sleep began to hallucinate with the Phantom, but not only that, perhaps due to the traumas that the character suffered, he always feels the fear that some hostile mob go to attack (something similar happens with ex-combatants from Vietnam) and this is called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
The character was traumatized by the hostile mobs that, in addition to the lack of sleep, began to hallucinate with the Phantom
Maybe that explains why the player can only see him if he doesn't sleep for a certain number of nights.
And you may wonder, then why does the Phantom die in the sunlight?
Well ... Many hostile mobs die or disappear when the day comes, for example: the zombie and the skeleton are burned to death, the enderman and the creeper just disappear and the spider does not attack you
The character opens safely associated the day and that is why he hallucinates that the Phantoms burn in the sunlight
And now you may wonder, then why is the Phantom capable of damaging or even killing the character?
Well, it is known that there are real hallucinations, which are that people who suffer them think that hallucinations touch them or even that it hurts them
What I mean is that the character can feel that the Phantom hurts him but in reality it is all in his head
Then you will ask me again why is the character capable of dying for the Phantom?
Well, it may be for many reasons, it may be that another mob has killed him, that he has killed himself without realizing it or that he has died of a heart attack
Then you will ask me why in multiplayer Minecraft several characters can see the Phantoms?
Well, it can be for 2 reasons, one: that both characters are suffering the same hallucinations or the second: that it is a case of mass hysteria
And what's more, a similar case happened in India, where several people reported seeing a "monkey man" jumping from buildings and in the end it was known that it was false and it was all mass hysteria.
Perhaps something similar happens in Minecraft Multiplayer where several characters think they see a Phantom but in reality they do not
A theory I heard out there says that the Phantom is that a ghost
But to begin with, a ghost is the spiritual representation of someone who has already died
In other words, why would a person who died come to the world of the living representing himself as a flying bug?
And, on the other hand, why would they only appear when the character does not sleep much? That is, if it is a ghost, it can appear as long as it wants
On the other hand, it would not make sense either since there are the arenas of souls that are arenas that have locked souls inside, that is, the Phantoms cannot be ghosts
Another theory says that the Phantom is a creature from the Nether that comes to take the souls of the characters
This also does not make sense since why do they appear only when the character does not sleep much? Besides, it is known that the Nether is not the hell of Minecraft but is a separate dimension
Another theory says that the Phantom was a creature from the Nether that came out to the overworld because cracks were formed that connected the Nether with the overworld and this happened because of the Piglins
And this does not make sense since if this had happened it would have left a trace of what happened in the past
For example, we know that the Piglins came to the overworld due to the damaged portals
But in Minecraft they never made cracks that connect to the Nether or something similar
And if they are going to say the ravines, then the ravines can perfectly be geographic features
Likewise, one would have to wait for a Minecraft developer to confirm or not the theory
This is my theory, I hope you liked it
I wanted to tell you that I am not American or English, in fact my mother tongue is not English that is why I am using the translator so if you notice any spelling mistakes I hope you will excuse me
I can bolt it to death with my crossbow or hack to gibs with axe, and use whatever scraps are left of it to trigger a pressure plate, clog a hopper chain or repair broken elytra back into function, not even speaking about incidents of being killed directly by it.
So no, it's not a hallucination. Stuff like that can be done only by, or to material things.

If it could be that the character hallucinates that he kills him by ... Real hallucinations and is actually killing something else, hostile mobs, neutral or peaceful mobs or other players and what he drops is also a product of that hallucination

The problem is when you are killing it on top of well-lit 100-foot-tall watchtower with overhanging barriers in the middle of a barren desert and thrive on potatoes farmed underground.
And it turns out that after scraps fell into your daily nether wart tea, you survived a fall from said 100-foot watchtower without a scratch. And when you try again with potatoes, it doesn't work. But it repeats when you drink wart tea with scraps in it again.

We took the wrong turn, we brought these demons upon ourselfs.
It is punishment, to those who dare to not sleep.
But is it realy just the phantoms?
Why does a bed explode in the nether or the end?
This is different from a clock or a compass not working properly.
There is something creepy about beds...
Phantoms revigorate in toxic chemicals, but crash down after sprayed with medicine...
They clearly used to be alive, like the zombies that harass villages every night.

I do not think they are zombies in case they were, their non-infected counterpart would have, like the zombies that their non-infected counterpart would be Steve or Alex, the same happens with the villagers, apart from that they would have black eyes and not green

Bet living equivalent of phantoms is extinct. Wither Skeletons, for example, have no living equivalent.
No, Enderman doesn't count, as it cannot use armor or weapons in any manner, while some Wither Skeletons are smart enough to use a bow or armor if given, and all have swords they use to great effect. And can't teleport.
And are present only in fortresses, while Endermen can spawn practically everywhere, regardless of biomes and dimensions.
Also, Wither Skeletons can take a bath in lava just as well as in water, while Enderman gets 4th degree burns (thermal or chemical) from both.
I thought this was the most common theory out there anyway lol
Hallucinations don't drop membranes with completely unique properties when it comes to repairs, brewing, interactions with pressure plates or hoppers. Try to dispute with that.

The skeletons were humanoids that were dead from before but the fungus virus revived them, something similar open past with the Wither Skeletons (unless the Wither created those skeletons) all this based on the theory of the history of Minecraft
What the Phantom drops may be something else, but the character thinks that it gives him membranes, and this may be since many hostile mobs drop things like for example, the skeleton drops a bow and arrow, the zombie if it has something on it drops what has (or a zombie flesh), the spider's eyes and web, the enderman's eyes, etc. The character hallucinates that he drops things because of the habit of killing hostile mobs and giving him aglo
And with the subject of doing things with the Phantom membranes more than the same, what he does may be real but the membranes are the work of his head (like the Phantom)
Even so I am having another theory regarding the Phantom that may make a little more sense (even that this makes sense to me but that enters your opinion) capable today or tomorrow I publish it

Membranes have unique properties nothing else has, brewing is the prime example of which. And they are distinguishable even after you get a good sleep, steady water source and 3 meals a day.

Nether Fortresses are present regardless of biome, including desolate Nether Wastes, Basalt Deltas and Soul Sand Valleys.
They seem to be bacterial/viral infections in case of zombies (fungus spreads by spores, which infect slowly and over long distances, unlike zombie bites that spread melee-close and rapidly), but other causes seem to be applying heavy voltage to pigs and overworld presence (the latter might be explained bacterially).

The Piglins were also infected by the fungus virus so when we spawn one in the overworld it quickly zombifies
I think it's the polar opposite.
In barren wastes, you see as much, if not more, zombiefied piglins.
In Crimson Forests that are full of spores, zombified piglins are uncommon, but those still alive are abundant.

My theory is that everything in MineCraft is a hallucination. None of it is real. There are no such things as 'creepers', 'zombies', 'horses', 'dirt blocks', 'stone blocks' etc. The player is, in fact, sitting at a computer which is moving a load of pixels around on the computer screen.
Just as Piglins abound, so do zombified Piglins especially in the Netherrack biome, and I believe that the Red Forest biome is the Piglins and Zoglins biome.
As I said before, the membranes can be real and they can have unique properties but it may not be how the character sees it.
If the membranes weren't real, they wouldn't trigger pressure plates and clog hoppers.
If the membranes weren't membranes, but random scraps you beat out of innocent bystanders, they wouldn't give potions with so unique properties.
Ergo, membranes are real.
Membranes don't come from nowhere, and are strictly related to player killing phantoms.
If phantoms didn't exist, or were other mobs, phantoms wouldn't give membranes (that as we know now, are membranes and nothing else).
Ergo, phantoms are real, and not hallucinations.
Just as Piglins abound, so do zombified Piglins especially in the Netherrack biome, and I believe that the Red Forest biome is the Piglins and Zoglins biome.
