I usually download Optifine from optifine.net, but the newest version posted there is still for 1.14. When I do a web search, I find loads of websites that supposedly have the Optifine 1.15.2 download, but I am not familiar with any of them and don't know if they are safe.
Is the 1.15.2 version of Optifine available from a reliable source?
SOLVED: I found a video that instructs to click on "Preview Versions" on the optifine.net download page and the 1.15.2 version is listed there, apparently usable but not completely finished.
Sorry for asking the question! I would delete it, but can't figure out how.
Click on Preview versions, download and install the latest.

The most recent preview version of Optifine is now compatible with forge, but when I tried it out, I was getting huge rendering issues. I.e. immediate region was rendered ok, shaders looking great and all, but then next region over, it would be not rendered at all. Also, various forge mod addon's would not show up (waypoint beacons for JourneyMap, light overlay would not render, etc) So it still got a ways to go...

I haven't run into any of those problems yet thank goodness. My system runs smoothly without Optifine, but I like to be able to zoom in with the "C" key. I wish vanilla Minecraft had this feature. Then I wouldn't bother with Optifine at all.
