Can I somehow (without mods, but with resource pack) remove beacon beam? When I remove "beacon_beam" texture, it is all white. That does not help. Anything else to change? Any other way? (minecraft 1.15.2) -> Even https://vanillatweaks.net/picker/resource-packs/ <-- unobstrusive "no beacon beam" does not help.
I think something has changed in the way 1.15 does graphics...
I also tried the vanillatweaks 'No Beacon' in 1.15 & it shows up, however I ALSO tried the same pack in 1.14.4 & the beam disappears..
I have even taken from the minecraft 1.15.2 jar file the actual beacon graphic tried to compare the difference between this & the same graphic from 1.14.4 to see if there's a different.
The ONLY difference I can see is that 1.14.4 has 37.78 Px/cm while the 1.15.2 version has 78.7 Px/cm however I don't know if this is the reason for working/not working or whether it's due to how 1.15.x now renders graphics & it differs from 1.14.4 way of rendering
I've already tried different setting in both PaintShopPro & GIMP to try & see if any of them can 'fix' this problem with no luck.
I've even been on the VanillaTweaks Discord server to dicuss this problem

I'm assuming that there been a change in how MC renders in 1.15 that is different to 1.14.x BUT the VanillaTweak website/team has just assumed that 1.14 version will work in 1.15 as well & so they give out just the tweak file for both versions regardless.
Maybe one of the team can look into this ??

ok - gonna do that right now.. I was just hoping that MAYBE someone on here may know what the problem is & give a suggestion

added your screenshot to the card and moved it to the right place. Thanks for letting us know
I also got a post that suggests that it's a Minecraft Bug - which apparently is still 'open' & 'unresolved'
This is probably related to how in 1.8 they made it so that most blocks no longer support transparency to patch x-ray exploits (making a block like e.g. stone have a transparent texture would let you see though it), essentially, by ignoring the "alpha" channel in the texture so you see the color assigned to it instead (which can be any color but is usually black or white).
In this case there seems to be little reason to do this since none of the affected blocks/effects can be exploited, so it was probably just due to a rewrite of the rendering engine (for example, OpenGL state changes like alpha transparency are applied to all textures rendered during a draw call and they may be rendering them all at once instead of separately to improve performance by reducing the number of draw calls; I've made order of magnitude improvements to rendering speed by batching draw calls so they are quite expensive).

Could you make the texture 100% transparent?
I dunno if they changed anything of the specific process, but in 1.15 they DID replace the rendering system with the Blaze engine.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
