So it was i think in about june 2017. i played on my realm and i found a village then i saw these green-clothed villagers and i thought at first it was new proffesions but i couldnt trade with them and i was wondering "are these green villagers even useful" and no! they arent! idk why theyre added they are pretty much useless. doesnt drop anything upon death and your reputation in the village only goes down when you kill them (at least i think so) how was your first encounter with Nitwits?
Well, I summoned it in using commands, so i thought it was a secret villager they used for updating villagers or adding new professions. The first survival encounter was when I mass breeded villagers due to under population, and ended up with overpopulation and some nitwit villagers, so i killed them. I knew I would risk my popularity, but all the villagers had similar/same trades, so I risked it and now I dont have any more nitwits.

I made elbowhair when i was super young, now i changed my twitch name.
Well, once i read a post which ran on and on for four whole lines and was full of sloppy punctuation and random Capitalization but you are speaking about the in-game villager without a profession who seems to have no purpose other than to occupy space and you can't trade with him. he used to be easy to kill by simply digging a hole pushing him in and smothering him with sand but since the villagerpillager update that is not quite so easy to do anymore so i pretty much just ignore the nitwits as he's not really harming anyone by being there.
They are more common than Pink Sheep but yeah there useless unless you have a datapack/mod that gives them custom trades, if you want to use them for that of course. That and I think they were the template for villagers at first/but now are just for filling in villager spaces.
Nitwits relate to real life, not all "villagers" have jobs, it's a village after all. Also, they are made to be useless, it's in the name "nitwit". It adds variety, it means that some villagers won't have jobs which perfectly makes sense. Although, i thought that i could trade with them at first and tried re-logging but after some research, they are intended to do nothing. I like the idea of having useless mobs as well as useful mobs, as it brings variety to the game. I mean, pigs are practically useless as you can get the same food points from cows. But everyone loves a cute piggie aye?

Trap the nitwits all in a fence cage that is only 1 fence in height and let the raiders deal with them before u "save" the village from the raid.
I wasn't surprised when I first encountered a Nitwit because I had read about them, but they don't bother me. I only oversee and protect naturally spawned villages with free-roaming villagers, and if there are a few Nitwits mixed in among the working villagers it doesn't bother me and it doesn't bother the other villagers.

maybe make a hole and push them without punching them so they fall to their death! that doesnt count as a "Murder"
I did not think of that lol thanks
