So my friends can't play Minecraft for five minutes with out feeling nauseous or dizzy. She's able to play the switch edition just fine but something about the Java edition makes her feel sick. I tried fiddling with the settings, like turning few bobbing off, the shadows off, the clouds, changing the fov, and even trying different resource packs, but nothing seems to help. I looked up to see if anyone else was having this issue and I found a few people but no one seems to have found a solution. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas as to why it happens that'd be really helpful
My daughter has this problem sometimes. My daughter has problems playing on our older computer because of the lag and refresh rate of the monitor. My computer is faster and has a better monitor so it doesn't really affect her.
Has your friend tried it on different computers or monitors? It may be that the one she uses doesn't handle the framerate well enough compared to the switch.
The problem is known as vertigo. I was quite surprised to feel it when I first began playing Minecraft. Over time the feeling as gone away, partly out of confidence in my own actions, (I don't fall anywhere near as often as I used to), partly because my mind now knows it is just a game, (falling doesn't have real world consequences). Widening the field of view, as suggested above, might help. I have my FOV set to 80 which reduces panning while still maintaining a relatively natural FOV.
I play in windowed mode and turn down the frame rate. For some reason my brain likes that a lot better. The window mode really helps if there's a static background so my eyes can focus on something else. I hope it gets resolved for your friend my other friend has problems with motion sickness too much mostly when he is doing vr
Its usally just the grass textures and the movement. I used to always get sick from it, make sure your friend eats and drinks water, if there still getting sick, usally over time your eyes can get used to how to game looks.

If your friend is suffering motion sickness, try widening the FOV in settings.
Ginger solves motion sickness problems for some gamers. Either capsuls, or ginger ale for mild cases.
Tell her that minecraft is not for weaklings.
Jk try playing it in window mode instead of full screen, I never had motion sickness since.

Short: Food, water, time to get used to it.
