So i have my superflat world that i have about 300h in, and it is on the basic preset (5 blocks to void) and can i without interrupting the surface move all the contents from the 5 block deep world to a way deeper one? I dont think world edit will work beacuse there is just too much on it. The reason i want to do it is beacuse the world itself has about 70000 CHUNKS from which maybe 500 are actually taken by buildings. Oh and the world is too big for mcedit, so maybe i can somehow change its file size? Its my favorite world and i want to play on it with more than constant lag and weird moving mobs.
MCEdit should be able to handle a world of any size; it has no issues with a 109500 chunk world that I have - on a 32 bit operating system no less, since it only loads chunks within its view distance, just like Minecraft itself, and even analyzing the entire world works (it appears to have a set limit on how much memory it can use for loaded chunks; that said, this is a very old version of MCEdit, 0.1.7.1, which was written completely differently).
That said, MCEdit, including the latest versions (1.0 and 2.0, the latter of which still seems to be in beta), can only load worlds as recent as 1.12.2 since 1.13 completely changed the save format, and there are no plans to update it (even 1.12 isn't officially supported according to the official site; "Minecraft versions supported: Java: 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, Forge 1.7"; but given that 0.1.7.1, released in 2013, can open 1.12 worlds the latest version shouldn't have any issues either as long as you don't use mods that alter the save format (unknown blocks, vanilla or modded, will have a missing texture but it can still work with them; there will be lighting errors when relighting chunks with unknown transparent or light-emitting blocks which can be fixed in-game).
Otherwise, while you can edit the preset in level.dat (generatorOptions) this won't affect existing chunks, and if you do have a pre-1.13 world (this means last played in, not created in, and absolutely do not try to load it in 1.12!) and newer versions of MCEdit are attempting to load the entire world at once you can make a backup of the world (always do this before making any edits) and only save the region files that contain your builds (e.g. region r.0.0.mca contains blocks 0,0 to 511,511). You can also use a tool like WorldEdit to move smaller areas instead of trying to move the entire region at once (this also works with vanilla's structure blocks, though they can only handle up to 32x32x32 blocks at a time; from reading the WorldEdit documentation it doesn't seem to have a limit, other than how much memory you have allocated (i.e. crashing from out of memory, unless it is smart enough to recognize its limits).

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I play my world on the newest versions, now 1.15.1, So it means i cant put it into thenewer or older mcedit?
