So I recently updated my world from 1.14 to 1.15 after the full release came out, and I simply deleted some of the chunks in 1.14 using a program and it worked just fine and I can see that the chunks are getting reloaded as for example water starts flowing down the mountains once I explore and there are some flat trees / leaves by the new and old chunks. But I can not find a single bee nest anywhere... I even went as far as to check in 100% new places I have never been in my world before, and still nothing. I've searched in forest biome, plains, flower, mountains, taiga and many more, and yes, I am 100% sure I am in 1.15 as I can see the recipes for beehives. (I typed in a command that unlocks all recipes as I find it dumb to have to unlock them)
From the Wiki:
Bees spawn inbee nests hanging from oak and birchtrees found in Plains, Sunflower Plains and Flower Forest biomes. Every tree in these biomes has a 5% chance to have a bee nest only during world generation. Bee nests are most commonly found in the Flower Forest biome because of its tree density, as opposed to the few scattered trees found in the other biomes.
If you migrated the world from 1.14 to 1.15 you would have to find one of those biomes that WASN'T in the 1.14 world or you deleted and generate them in 1.15.
I used Amidst to find a world seed, "-4600875984822943525" that spawns you facing and just north of a fairly large flower forest.
I was able to find one bee nest in it. That's not to say there aren't others, just that I didn't find any others.
It was at -68, 64, 53.

Thats exactly what I have done. I deleted all the old chunks that I hadn't built anything in and it worked just fine, but still no bees. I also went to unexplored places that I have never been in during 1.14 and can't find anything there either. I decided to create a completely new world just to see if they even are there, but nothing. Are they just REALLY rare to find?? I searched tons of plains biomes, forests and flower forests, but not a single bee to be spotted. (I have probably searched for a grand total of 1 and a half hour with no luck)

Did you try the seed I posted right above your post?

I tried that now, and at the excact same location there is just water, but no beehives nearby... (the red block is exactly your coordinates). Now I am using a resource pack, but it doesn't make the beehives invisible in any way, as I can clearly find them in my creative inventory and place them and interact with them. The version is also 1.15 full release as you can see in the top left of the image I sent.
UPDATE: Nevermind I found two! I guess they are just REALLY rare somewhat (though there should be a 5% spawn chance, so I am surprised I didn't find any more in that dense of a flower forest). But I saw that in my launcher it said "latest snapshot 1.15" so I changed that to "latest release 1.15" and gave the same seed a shot, found 2 beehives after 10 minutes of searching
