Hi folks. I am thinking of buying a MacBook and want to know if a) Minecraft plays in a MacBook (right now Inplay bedrock on an iPad) and if mouse functions will work with the MacBook and Minecraft. Thanks!!!!
Xbox One, Switch, Windows 10, IOS, Android and Windows Phone all run Bedrock.
Java and Bedrock aren't compatible or the same (features [there is feature parity happening but for the most part not 100% the same], how they perform, Redstone works different as Java players use bugs in their builds, Bedrock Edition's doesn't work the same and more).
In terms of worlds though I don't know how it will go (if your going for that compared to starting fresh with Java Edition on Mac), there is DragonProxy (https://github.com/DragonetMC/DragonProxy) for server Java/Bedrock support (as far as I've heard) but otherwise both are different versions of the game so best to treat Java and Bedrock as completely different.
Mouse (Touchpad, obviously recommended to use an external wired/wireless mouse) and Keyboard do work I'd assume (never used a Macbook) but if it's like other Laptops/Notebooks I'd assume it should be fine. I have a 2 in 1 that works fine with either.
That's all I can say really to keep in mind when getting Minecraft on a Mac (besides my lack of Mac experience of course).
Minecraft runs just fine, if a wee bit laggy when traveling by horse or boat, on my 2013 Macbook Pro, (2.4GHz i5, 16GB Ram). The touchpad works just fine for navigation, though I did eventually remap 'Attack' because I was tired of accidentally hitting villagers and other passives when 'Moving' around with the touchpad.
But isn't Catalina bringing in the ability to run Ipad apps within MacOS? I don't know the technical details but definitely something to research. Perhaps Mojong support could answer whether Bedrock will run on Catalina?

A Macbook Pro should (obviously depends on the generation but still), while I'm not familiar with Apple products I do know the Pro is higher end.
I'd say if you want to compare/see it it is capable look over these requirements just encase and find one that can support these specs:

Cool. It would be a MacBook Pro 2019. I am wondering then, if I would be able to transfer my iPAd world to the MacBook?
Damn....I’ve a helluva world I made on my iPad!
