I tried to enter the old way for gamerules but no luck. Anyone know the new way to enter gamerule changes in 1.14? I always play with keep inventory set to true and it is driving me nuts.
I always create my worlds in Creative and then when in the game shift to Survival mode.
In my 1.14 world I was able to execute /gamerule keepinventory true.
In fact the auto complete/list feature worked to get to it.

i might be late but it i must say it seems like when i turn on lan on a world without cheats and the lan has cheats enabled, i can turn on keepinventory, but when i log off and re-enter i think even when lan isnt open i still get to keep my stuff
only got to test once so im not sure but it seems to be what happens

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.
You need cheats enabled in order to change gamerules game modes etc but once they are set they continue working even if cheats are no longer allowed.

Did you have cheats enabled when creating the world? (One way to check this is to see if the "/give" command lets you give yourself a stick or such.)
Edit: To clarify, when in a cheat-enabled world, I can use "/gamerule keepInventory true" to let me keep my inventory through deaths just fine.
I'll double check just to be sure.
Note: Yeah I guess it did register the click when I selected cheats on...rofl. Should have checked that first.

Did you mean to say it didn't register?
You know you can turn on cheats temporarily by opening your game to LAN on the pause screen? (You don't need to have a LAN for that to work.)
(And you don't need cheats turned on for gamerules to work, just when giving the command.)
Just testing.
