There is a command for tick speed, though I don't know it offhand, it is probably listed on the wiki. I've seen youtuber Vechs use it to speed up grass growing in his super hostile maps.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Yes, I was searching in that direction too. But I couldn't find a suitable command, either to speed-up time, nor to artificially grow crops. But I'm quite new at this, so I may just have missed it.

I ♥ Linux. Thanks Mojang for providing a game that runs natively on that OS!
According to the wiki, it will not really "speed-up" time, but it will select more blocks to update at each game tick (here 30 blocks instead of 3). Aggressive values of randomTickSpeed seems to have unwanted side effects/create race conditions with BUD devices, since many blocks are updated at each game tick.
I want to test a Redstone harvesting device, but it is annoying to have to wait for crops to grow after each change of the design.
So, is there a way to "speed up" time for testing/debugging purposes?
FWIW, I'm testing my device in creative mode, on a flat world.

Found it!
For a 10x speed-up:

The command to speed up time is Gamerule randomTickSpeed {Value}. The T and S on Tick and speed need to be capitalized along with the G on Gamerule
