Hello people I have been thinking and I'm sure a lot of you have been too should minecraft console editions have mods and how would it work. My idea is to look at something like skyrim special edition and how nodding is handled there. The way they do it is on the pc version if you buy it you can get this thing called a creation kit if you have it you can upload mods to the game. I feel like mc could do something like this. Another chose would be and I know people will hate this but pay for a pack of mods that the devs upload. the console community should get a taste of what mc is like with mods and if anyone else has any ideas please say them.
The main issues with modding on console versus PC is that PC Minecraft is coded in Java which is easy to alter and code while console versions use C++ which is harder to alter without breaking the game. The majority of Minecraft modders are Java coders and might be unfamiliar or uncomfortable using another language. Also this would mean they would have to completely reprogram their mod from scratch and I doubt many would willingly do all this extra work especially with how the decreased power and capabilities of a console would limit their mods abilities and features.

Consoles are a completely different animal. They're "closed" systems for perfectly good reasons (namely they're guaranteed virus-free and games just "work" as advertised without any problems). MS, Sony, and Nintendo aren't about to "open up" their consoles to (unknown and uncontrollable) 3rd parties. In other words, you accept the risk from downloading some "mod" off the internet- console makers won't.

What about something like the Fallout 4 mods screen/area?
bethesda had to really FIGHT to get those mods. it didnt come very easily. plus game modding is technically against the terms of service or acceptable use policy crap on xbox. althouth the mods on skyrim are able to get an exception for some reason or another

Poo! I didnt even think about the terms! Well that sucks.
I wouldn't call those "mods". They're more like DLC additions that you can only get from Bethesda, requires Fallout 4's Creation Kit to create, and only works with DLC players have already bought and paid for. In other words, it's "complicated". If you're thinking that the console MC should be wide open (and uncontrolled) like PC version mods are, forget it.
The way I see it, Mojang/4J makes "mods" for MC on consoles all the time.... only they're called "updates", and they're free to everyone.
