/summon xp_orb ~ ~1 ~ {Value:100000} This one might work.
Thanks, I don't know why it didn't work without the position, the Wiki claims it does and it was producing orbs, they just didn't do anything.
By the way, 100000 is too big, I ended up with -60985 durability on my sword.
10000 works fine though, as does the 1237 I had in my command block once I added "~ ~ ~" for the position.

Yeah, guess it needs the position. Btw, how the heck did Mending give you negative durability? It should stop once it's fully repaired.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

I think it must roll over to negative before it was applied to the sword, I think I saw something about that in the Wiki somewhere but I can't find it again.
100000 doesn't work for adding to the XP-bar either but there it doesn't do anything at all.
Hi,
I'm trying to test how Mending works so I set up a command block to dispense XP-orbs but they don't do anything.
How do I set the value?
I've got the command:
summon xp_orb {Value:1237}
It produces orbs but they neither repair my Mending sword in my main hand nor fill my Level bar, so what am I missing?

I'm in 1.11 by the way.
Just testing.

/summon minecraft:experience_orb ~1 ~0 ~0 {Value:1237}
also good for cheating out mending
for 1.13
and also for mending u need to do it multiple times
If you had negative damage from too much xp you better hide before PhoenixSC sniffs you out!
/summon xp_orb ~ ~1 ~ {Value:1237}
And in 1.16.4?
how i can put the value?
/summon minecraft:experience_orb ~ ~3 ~ {Value:123}
