Today I was building a structure with commands when I typed a command in wrong and now it kills me every tick. Since I get killed the moment I respawn, I have no time to break the block or use a command that fixes the problem. Is there any way to solve this, short of downloading a program like MCEdit or starting over?
The simplest way is to use MCEdit or just start over. If you don't want to do that you can put the world on a server and disable command blocks temporarily in the config.

Thanks for the replies! However, I've already figured out how to override this problem.
Since this problem was a result of a scoreboard error, I was able to go into the .minecraft folder and delete the "scoreboard" file, which removed the objective and my score for that objective. Admittedly, it was a pretty simple fix, but I need to be careful--lest it happens again and there's no fix so simple.

Yeah MCEdit is the best way, and it comes in handy for backing up builds and things.
