so here is what i need help with. I'm making an adventure map and i want it too look like a villager is talking however i don't want the player to have to step on a pressure plate to get the command block activated i want it to be just automatic but it does it at the right time then stops. how do i do that?
Only way to do it that I know of is to use a player detector. I know Etho made one for his fireworks display in his vanilla let's play, if I recall how he explained it it relies on the way chunks are loaded and how redstone operates in those chunks. You would simply hook that up to a command block that tests for the appropriate villager near the player location, I guess.

I'm not sure if this would work, but have you tried a tripwire?
Sorry if this seems stupid it's just I don't work with redstone that much.
Ask command block related questions in the redstone discussion forum. I'm sure this had been done before.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
