Ok I know there are very many of you out there who waste your entire day playing minecraft, and do it every day after school for hours, do you have a problem?
Don't ask questions, if you are serious about quitting you must do the following steps IMMEDIATELY!
Step 1: Delete all minecraft files from your computer (including but not limited to) Shortcuts, files, launchers (like technic launcher), mods, anything related to minecraft.
Step 2: No more minecraft related junk on the internet (Yes including this site) NO MORE websites, noob tests, videos, if you see the word "Minecraft" anywhere ignore it. Also, delete anything related to minecraft from your internet history.
Step 3: RESIST THE URGE! Ok say you're watching a cat video compilation on youtube, then you see a video named: "NEW [whatever you're favorite tv show is] MOD!!!!!!" and then you're all like OMG WAT, but trust me, just ignore it. DO NOT CLICK! Because then you will see how cool it is, and then you will reinstall everything to play that mod. Then where would you be? Yeah thats right, back to square one.
Step 4: Find the source of the problem. Why do you like to play it so much? Maybe its the ability to always improve, or do you just like to pretend that you're a little fairy princess in the twilight forest? Maybe you get so sucked into it because you can't resist the urge to build another castle.
Step 5: Find something that replaces minecraft that corresponds to why you play so much. For example: If you like to create amazing structures, take up painting or graphic design.
Step 6: Ya can't look back. Whenever you think about going back to say goodbye to your friends on your favorite server, just to be nice, DONT! You are going to get sucked back in. You don't need to say goodbye to someone you said on a computer.
Step 7: CONGRATULATIONS! You can say hello to self improvement! Minecraft was holding you back from your dreams!
Step 8: (Just in case the others didn't work) Terraria is to Minecraft as Nicotine Gum is to Smoking. Terraria helped me alot. Its not as addicting as minecraft, I can just stop playing easier. Although its a minecraft-inspired game I seriously recommend it for those who wish to quit minecraft.
TEdit and TerrariViewer can give you awesome items in terraria, all I do on terraria is ride around on my unicorn around my world and shoot nyan cat lasers into the sky.
I've never seen people this addicted to minecraft, like.... ever.
There are very many, there are quite a few forum posts and web pages about it.
though since your posting this on the minecraft forum, doesn't that mean you've failed already?
No I have not. I am choosing to share my knowledge with others.
I can quit minecraft whenever I want, and no, I'm not addicted.
I never said you were addicted.
I also play other games in the meantime, so I switch a lot.
Good for you.
-I am not saying you have a problem. But some people do. I cannot tell someone if they have a problem or not. They have to decide that for themselves. This thread is for people who want to quit, and there are people who do. You can search "How to quit minecraft" on google or bing or whatever search engine you prefer.
