Before I start, my Dad/Mom openly endorses me playing Minecraft, seeing it as a huge opportunity for me. (So yea, this is not a thread about my Mom/Dad thinking I am "too old" for MC, even my Dad plays singleplayer sometimes xP)
Okay, lets get on with it.
My school (no names) absolutely HATES video games/stuff like it. There was a protest last year (8th graders btw), to implement MCEdu, but it got shot down by the principal of my school. All of the people who were asking got lunch detention for a week. Also, the school had more than enough money to set it up, the Parents were trying to get the PTO to fund it. In light of that, there has been huge tensions between the school and the students.
The question becomes, is there a way to ever make this happen? Do I and my fellow classmates even have a chance? If you have any bit of a answer, please reply so I can at least try it. (I don't really care about a lunch detention that much, it really doesn't matter with me).
Now, I don't know what kind of school you are in but I don't think it is possible if the principal is against it, if it is one of those who talk to everywone from their oh so high horse (the lunch thing is a hint to that).
You *may* be able to do something if the majority of parents sign a petition, which is not likely to happen because 60% of parents are very passive in that regard.
Be polite and DON'T get combative. That would make your principal just dig in his/her heels that much more.

Well in that case, your school is run by a bunch of anti-video game retards. I suggest that you try to get your friends and family to try and help convince your school. Make a bunch of flyers asking people to support MCEdu for your school. Chances are you will get a good amount of supporters, including the students of your school. Another option would be to make a petition on-line or to keep on asking the school, no matter what they do to you. Chances are, they will probably punish you for just asking like they did with the other students. If they do that, make flyers bashing the school about what they did to the students and try to spread the word. People will start to hate on the school because of its harsh punishments for stupid reasons.
But in the long run, it sounds like your school is also VERY outdated, due to the fact that you get a lunch detention when you ask.

You need to get your parents involved. This is a stupid rule that they give you a lunch detention. Make them get your back, have them yell at the principal and ask why. If your parents are on your side, you have it made. Your parents can make them repeal lunch detentions.
Get a buttload of brave students (And a good amount of parents) to sign a petition, and write an essay why it's a good idea to have MinecraftEDU.
Not sure if this helps. This is a massive injustice and it pisses me off.

Meh. Better do it if/when a new principle is in charge. Some people are very anti-video game. Weird.

Definitely do not be combative. Be assertive. Since your principle is against games it won't be easy. The only other thing
you can do is start a petition. Get signatures everywhere possible and present your case along side the petition results
to your principle. If it is still rejected go up the chain. Take it to your superintendent. Still no support? still no change?
Take it to your local Board of Education. I suggest trying to get teachers to sign your petition before this step and
doing every bit of research you can into every school that has implemented MCEdu. Show statistics. Show benefits
and try to get every beneficial piece of information possible. Who knows, you may just end up changing more than
just your school.
