After looking at the time that I have spent in my Realm (It is 5-6 months old, and I have logged 13.77 days on it), and the amount of time I have spent on my favorite server (10.7 days, probably over a time period of about a year), I was a little freaked out. That seems like a lot of time to me. But is it? I was wondering. That's why I made this post: to see how much time everyone has spent on their favorite servers/worlds in comparison with mine. (If you have more than 1 favorite world/sever, please add both of their times together. Mine would be 24.47 days, since 13.77 + 10.7 equals that.)
I've spent nearly 51 days in my first world; I've even maintained the stats for it:
That's since I got the game a bit over two years ago, although I haven't played on it continuously (I'd guess that I've spent twice what you see in all of my worlds, pretty much playing every day with the most recent "break" of a couple weeks back in April simply due to working on one of my mods, so not really a break from Minecraft; I've never taken any real break in that time).
Here is another world I had, my second-longest played world with slightly over a third of the time:
Never mind how long I've played those worlds though; the fact that I've mined over a million ore (in the second world shown above I used Fortune III to mine all of that; that was before I stopped using it and backpack mods), placed a third of a million torches, and killed over a hundred thousand mobs in those two worlds alone... I'm already up to close to 50,000, 15,000, and 5,000 in my most recent world, with a bit over 4 days of playtime (about half of that actually spent caving). Then add in other worlds, which I've listed here., which probably brings me to 100 days played, also suggested by my daily average playtime; 3.486 hours per day for the two worlds shown times two years equals 2,545 hours, 106 days... that's actually terrifying when combined with the other stats.
In fact, that suggests that I've walked a distance equivalent to the Far Lands (12,745 vs 12,550 km) in all of my worlds - mostly underground (one calculation suggests that the total length of caves/ravines/mineshafts, around 2,500 km, I explored in my first world alone (some other worlds were radically modded and I'd have to look at the mod files to calculate the cave frequency, plus I don't have most of them anymore) is more than the distance Kurt has gotten from spawn so far, this assumes no overlapping caves but 2,000 km seems a good bet based on how much I walked, meaning possibly 4,000 km or more overall). Although I haven't exactly been running; I averaged about 1.4 m/s, a third of your walking speed.
Even more insane - none of that time was spent AFKing; I'm playing the game if it is running as I've never done anything that requires enough waiting to warrant that; for example, need to smelt iron and gold ore to make more room? I just set up some furnaces in a safe area then continue exploring nearby areas while it smelts. I recall somebody saying they had like 6,000 in-game days in one world, but given how they say they play I'm betting a lot of that is AFK time.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
