I don't think there is a website like this, but maybe there is, I don't know.
The idea is, it would be kinda like this, with a large amount of mods like that, but where each mod has a few scales representing different aspects, kind of like this.
I can't guess where a mod would fit on those scales, and I like the idea. And if there isn't a (good) website like that yet, maybe I'll make one. (With Wix, because I'm not spending a penny on this.) Never mind, Wix can't do what I need it to do.
Wow, the minecraft.com one is at the top of google when searching "minecraft mods". That's really bad. And I wasn't going to actually repost the mods, I was just going to have the mods link to the author's post. I don't think that counts as redistribution, and I'd have the users (I'll get to that in a sec) ask for permission from the mod developer first. And I like the Curse suggestion. Nice, although not what I'm looking for.
Since there doesn't seem to be a site that's what I'm looking for, I have an idea for anyone who would bother to make one. You would go onto the site. If there's a mod that's not there and you'd like there, make an account, request it (to let everyone on the site know that the mod's wanted there), and ask permission from the mod developer to link their forum post (or whatever the mod developer wants) in the site. If permission is granted, then the moderators on the site would add the mod to the site. If permission is not granted, then on the suggestion page, the suggestion for that mod would be highlighted in red, saying that it's been rejected, or something like that.
Each mod would have it's own page, and the page would include an image, a short description (taken from the developer's page), the scales that's the whole point of this, and of course the link to the developer's page. Each mod would also fit into different categories, kinda like what you showed me with Curse.
Or a site like Curse could add in this scale feature.
