So I was playing with my friends on my server one day, it was like 12 am so I decided to play tomorrow. When I start the server the next day, it loads fine but when I try connecting, it failed to connect to the server. I tried changing the ports but it didn't work. I am using Utorrent to port forward and is running a stable build of bukkit. I am also using No-Ip for the custom ip.
1.Many people think that Utorrent doesn't work, it works. I was playing with my friends yesterday on my server using Utorrent.
2.In Utorrent, you can pick a port, I set mine to 25565, the default port.
3.I could connect to the server using the external ip. I can connect with the internal ip but I give the external ip to my friend but he can't connect.
I didn't say utorrent didn't work, but its the wrong way to do it. You should learn the proper way for security and whatnot.
Its difficult to help you because your setup is non-standard so there are any number of things that could be problematic. If the server is just for you and a friend(s), then Hamachi is a far better and more secure option.
Knock your internet offline? That... isn't possible... Hamachi is a VPN software. I take it you don't know how a VPN works...
And I highly doubt any hacker would target some lowly person, just to kick them off the internet for a bit, which isn't how it works anyway.
Port forwarding on your router is the proper method. Hamachi is a backup method. Any other method is ill advised and "dirty".
Actually, I think I know what the OP means when it "knocked his internet out"
Freshman year I did something stupid and my non hamachi network was replaced by my Hamachi one, so I ended up having two hamachi networks instead of one LAN (Forget wifi, I kick it old school xD) and one hamachi.

Hamachi creates a virtual connection onlong side your existing connection. Basically like having 2 network cards. Hamachi can't take over your exisiting network. The DHCP server on your router sets the default gateway (Where to find the internet) by default when you turn on your computer, so there is zero confusion as to where internet requests need to go. Hamachi isn't a connection to the internet, it is a connection to a network.

Hence they "I did something stupid" part. It wasn't Hamachi's fault my original network was replace, but mine after I got too tired after guzzling Monster, playing Minecraft, and cramming for an exam for 16 straight hours. Still if I could do it, logic dictates others could do it. Maybe the OP made the same mistake as me.

To which I said "Hamachi can't take over your exisiting network.". Especially since the OP said he was kicked off for 12 hours, meaning it cam back on its own, not through something he did.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
You can just call me Canary.
How not to look like a total fool in the forum games
1. The server updated to a new version of Minecraft, and your version is out of date.
2. The server is updating. In that case, wait a while.

2. Your issue likely tems from... utorrent. It doesnt always hop on the same port, so your server is expecting one port but utorrent is using another.
3. Stop trying to connect to your own server with your external IP. Use the computer's internal IP or localhost if running on the same computer.
