I have a small list of things any Minecrafter should generally aim to follow when creating a new survival world ...
... and then I have a more ridiculous list of goals for those veteran 'Crafters who get bored. I'm simply creating this thread to share the list, in the hopes that someone, somewhere, will use it and enjoy it.
The two list of goals are as follows:
- Find an ocean/lake/pool of water, near a ravine.
- Break grass along the way, and collect seeds/plants.
- Build 1-storey house out of oak wood near the ravine.
- Start mining.
- Gather enough iron for two buckets.
- Gather some coal.
- Craft two buckets.
- Till out six 2x10 rows of farmland outside your house.
- Plant all wheat in two rows.
- Kill zombies until you obtain at least 1 carrot, and 1 potato.
- Plant them.
- Build a basic pasture.
- Find two cows.
- Build a second pasture, near the first.
- Find two sheep.
- Build another pasture, again near the first two.
- Find two pigs.
- Build a chicken coop, near the pastures.
- Find two chickens; or hatch them from eggs.
- Farm these all accordingly (Including your crops), until you glean enough food in preparation a long underground mining trip.
- Find a desert, or an excess of sand.
- Add glass windows to your house.
- Add a second storey.
- Dig out a basic basement, large enough for 64 double chests.
- If you haven't already, make yourself some iron armour, and iron tools. (lots of picks and spades!)
- Gather coal and sticks for torches.
- Gather even more sticks for ladders galore.
- Gear up, get food, a bucket of water, torches, picks and spades, ladders, a sword or two, extra wooden planks just in case, and anything else you think that you might need.. then enter the nearby ravine.
- Follow any cave system, leading down as far as it'll go, to coordinate "y: 12" or lower, mining any iron, coal, and any other resources that you see along the way.
- Now ferret around for diamonds, redstone, and lapis --- don't get greedy! If your Inventory is full, return home.
......
I think that's enough basic goals. Here's the aforementioned ridiculous goals:
- Remove your house. Rebuild it with diamond ore blocks, just because. (Requires silk-touched pick obviously.)
- Make every room have emerald ore block walls.
- Make every room have lapis ore block floors/ceilings.
- Find a stronghold. Mine out every bit of stone brick, and replace it all with the same as listed above.
- Move into the stronghold, and furnish it according to your desires.
- Excavate a giant cavern nearby, large enough to fit your old farm in it, and light it up completely.
- Make the floor all dirt.
- Place 1 grass block, and wait for it to grow on all of the dirt.
- Move your farm into the cavern.
- Make a master bedroom, next to the portal room.
- Make a wooden hoe.
- Enter the end.
- Destroy all the ender crystals with your wooden hoe.
- Kill the ender dragon with your wooden hoe.
- Find a way to place the egg in your master bedroom.
- Build a nether portal.
- Build a sprawling castle surrounded by a medieval city inside the nether.
- Expand your kingdom to every corner of the nether. Yes, this means exactly what it says on the tin - go all the way to the default vanilla world border, at 30+ million out.
- Replace every last netherrack with dirt, grass, stone, and water.
- Artificially create every overworld biome, with their respective blocks, and trees.
- Add proper foliage in their respective places. (Ferns, flowers, grass, mushrooms, etc.)
- Excavate cave systems, place ores within them, and create abandoned mines.
- Populate the nether with all overworld mobs such as cows, sheep, chickens, wolves, etc.
- Bring villagers from the overworld into the nether, and into the thousands of cities you've built.
- Breed the villagers until you have at least two per door in every city.
- Congratulations. You've achieved Notch status. Now go /r/outside.
Well, that's that. Anyone is free to use these, or add to these if they wish.
