Is there any possible way to play MineCraft on the PC, with an xBox controller, as if it actually is the xBox version? Like.. remove the mouse cursor, and just have it highlight the boxes within the inventory.
I use something called "xpadder" right now, and it lets me assign Keyboard and Mouse functions to my controler, but.. I can't seem to find a way to make it just highlight the inventory spaces, and remove the pointer like in the xBox version.
If this isn't possible at all, please tell me lol... because I've spent a very long time searching for this answer on my own. I mean really. I got this xBox controller specifically to play MineCraft on my computer with, back in like April 2013. I've used xPadder since then as well, and I have constantly dug around on Google for an answer to my query.
Now I say this.. but, I haven't really tried too hard. It was more of an idle search that I started when I was bored, and I gave up too easily to really say that I looked around a lot. So.. I'm asking here, in the hopes that someone could point me in the right direction.
There's a GUI mod that gives the crafting interface there's also an xbox controller mod, not sure if it does that as well. You can also ask around for one.
Possible. Just find a way to translate the computer data to Xbox data then reprogram the controls and done. (Probably won't work but that's how I would do it)
EDIT: Maybe try asking for a mod that allows this on the 'Modding' thread.

Um.. I guess I should have mentioned that I am asking about MineCraft 1.8, which means that "Mods" aren't exactly available yet. I just thought that there was some setting in Windows, or whatever that would allow xBox Control integration or something.. Idk lol. Just my imagination going a bit wild, as usual.

o.o And how would I go about doing that Albert Einstein Jr? Haha As for requesting a mod.. um lol. I am referring to MineCraft 1.8, so it's currently incapable of being Modded untill things are updated. Unless of course, I'm misunderstanding?

My current PC:
• Ryzen 9 3900x @4.2GHz
• 64GB DDR4 @3200MHz
• MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio
• 2TB NVMe SSD
• 6TB in HDD space
• Four monitors at 4k
No idea how to do that XD
I just have a strange ability to work out how to do almost anything on computers but never exactly how to do it >.<
Minecraft 1.8 can be modded however it would be quite hard because the thing that is used by modders to make the code readable hasn't been updated to 1.8 . (Or so I've heard)

I use Minecontrol. it's close enough to play pc minecraft as if it were xbox or ps3 version.
I watched this video to learn how to install it (although it's fairly simple)
Hope this helps!
I can't use that, as I need to downgrade my Java to do so. Java 8 does not have a "Medium" security setting, so it blocks Self-Signed applications no matter what. I cannot manually add the file to the exceptions list either, as it only accepts Website domains, not file paths.
Thank you though.. but, I have no intentions of downgrading my Java. =/
It explains how to setup a controller using joytokey, xpadder is also a good piece of software that allows the mapping of mouse and keys to a pad/joystick/wheel
Um. I appreciate the reply... but I stated in my opening post that I use xPadder lol.
Can you please re-read my question?
I'm trying to find a way to remove the mouse pointer, and instead have the "boxes" in the inventory and whatnot become highlighted, just like in the xBox version. >.>

sorry, my mistake, in that case i don't think it is possible without an ingame mod, as you want to completely change the interface and crafting system of minecraft from how it should be to how they changed it to make it easier with a controller
Blegh.. It's okay. I'm used to skimmers lol.
And um... needing a 'Mod' of some kind, is kinda what I was worried about. Thank you anyways though. I'll just stick to the mouse, and keyboard for now.
Well it's kind of a given. Minecraft's code doesn't include anything for highlighting their specific areas and the only way to get what you need is to mod the game which isn't impossible. Perhaps someone would be willing to help with making you one?
