that is not a fun thing. if anything it just might be more trouble for you as it would corrupt your local copy of minecraft.
I doubt it, unless you mean corrupting the save, and in that case you wouldn't be doing this on your main world.
That said, I've had fun with TNT, often resulting in out of memory crashes; including modding TNT to be powerful enough to blow up obsidian or even bedrock (at high levels an explosion actually causes new chunks to load along the explosion rays, resulting in a starburst pattern around the initially generated chunks). Never actually succeeded at blowing up bedrock (if you enclose the TNT so it can't break out it doesn't crash the game but does take a very long time too process; I waited for half an hour and nothing happened, with the internal server completely frozen; it is possible, but takes hours to process). NB: You can do this without mods in vanilla, using /summon to summon a fireball with custom explosion power.
that is not a fun thing. if anything it just might be more trouble for you as it would corrupt your local copy of minecraft.
Then I must be the luckiest Minecraft player since I crashed Minecraft making unstable worlds many times and yet my copy of Minecraft is still okay.
Anyways, I crashed Minecraft by doing the following things:
Huge cubes of TNT made by MCEdit
A world made of TNT
Making a door tower and opening one of the doors
Failing to install a mod correctly
Making a world made entirely out of pistons
Making /setblock place some piston head
Not knowing my data values and making a superflat world out of something strange like powered repeaters (for some reason when I went back to the part where you see all the blocks and the layers (the part before the presets) after I made the world out of powered repeaters, it crashed)

Ah, stack overflow errors - those sure do create huge crash reports (tip for people using 32 bit Java, like myself (if your OS is also 32 bit, otherwise upgrade to 64 bit as other problems can occur when using the wrong version) - add in -Xss1024K to the JVM arguments line, the default stack size for 64 bit; 32 bit only allocates 320K by default; I've had several such crashes even in vanilla, once due to falling gravel in the Nether when I first entered it, another something having to do with water and lava, which sounds like this bug report, with no custom world settings, etc).
(I've also caused stack overflows when modding cave generation, due to infinite recursion (caves branch by having the method that generates caves call itself)
I just noticed that one of my crash reports from modding mentions Minceraft:

I did the same, sort of... I used MCEdit instead of worldedit and it didn't crash my game
hebaum64 said: I use world edit and place over one million blocks of TNT and light it for a stress test XD I crashed, but there server did not lol
