DO NOT OPEN THAT SPOILER!!!
If you are reading this then you you totally ignored what I said about not opening that spoiler three spoilers ago.. Don't you remember? I said "DO NOT OPEN THAT SPOILER!!! But no, you were a rebel and did it anyway!
Cut back on your time a lot. You don't have to completely quit, but set limits for yourself like only playing when all ur homework is done, and even then only for 30 mins. School is a lot more important that minecraft, even if it isn't as fun :).

Dont quit something that you love, just set a time limit that you will play a day, say 1-2 hours a day after homework then you turn the game off and study

I myself had the same problem, but with many other games instead of just this one. What would I recommend? Get your work done, and study a bit to improve your grades. Once you get the work done, then enjoy yourself to the fullest extent, use it as a reward for yourself. I personally feel better about how I got my work done, and then have a great time with my friends. But seriously, do your best in school and try to put it first, Minecraft isn't going anywhere, and it will be there for you once you get the work done.

Freaking internet, always taking so much of my time!
It's really hard to resist the attraction of the internet. When you think about it, it's kind of like the dark side of the force. It's always there, somewhere in your mind. You can't forget about it, atleast not for long.
"I am your father luke!"
"Clean your room dangit! It's so messy."
On the actual topic, If your grades suffer, then you got to stop making that castle of yours and start studying more!
Like what many people are saying, try to manage your time so you have some time for Minecraft and a lot of time for education. When you have vacation or weekends, then that's when you can play Minecraft all day (unless there's also work to be done during those).
This is an opportunity to learn to manage your time, which is one of the most important skills you can have all through school and life. For some, a "limit" is an abstract thing and hard to obey. If this is the case, and if you are trying to limit yourself but find "one more minute" stuck in your head, I advise you to do this: Make a chart. A chart is a concrete thing that you can see. It stares you in the face and makes it a bit harder to cheat on your time limit. If you do, it shows on the chart that you failed and gave into temptation. People like to feel strong-willed. If they have a piece of paper telling them that they are weak, well, it just encourages them to do better.
Set an alarm. Your computer should have an alarm app that lets a little pop-up window show up on your screen and tell you, right where you can't ignore it, to get off the game.
Allow time for study. This is suggested many times over, but it is not quite as easy as it sounds. Sure, you need to allow time to do homework, but how exactly? Well if you have a sibling, let them play for once and do your homework.
Ask for help even if you don't need it; having a parent over your shoulder explaining y=mx+b makes it hard it cheat and stop math early.
Minecraft is not all bad. In fact, in the world of video games, it is one of the best choices out there. It is a creative game.
In a nutshell, don't stop, just manage your time.
You should mange your time wisely, I only get to play a couple times a week but I don't have to give it up. Think as Minecraft as a reward for doing well in school or doing your homework early.
