Yes, this is important. Recently, there have been links leading to an 'Optifine Website' that is apparently a giveaway for its 3rd Anniversary. Mind that this is fake! It is completely fake and do not enter your E-Mails and Password into it.
To give you a brief look at the fake, here it is:
optifine (dot) support | CapeGiveaway/
As you can see, this is the real website:
optifinenet/homephp
This is NOT legit! Proof:
1. Optifine.support is hosted by Cloudfare, as seen here: prntscrcom/399be8
2. Optifine.net is hosted by Hosting Services, as seen here: prntscrcom/399bk7
Here are a couple of questions you should ask yourselves before doing anything:
1. Why are the 2 links different? 1 has optifine.support but the other has optifine.net.
2. How come the end isn't this: optifinenet/capegiveaway
3. Why isn't this announced across the Twitter, etc?
Now let's spot a difference:
1. The fake giveaway background is plain white while the real Optifine website has a snow white background.
The thing is, you can type ANYTHING in those 2 slots and still be able to get in. The part after says that if you share it with 3 friends, you get an Optifine Cape. It's trying to get more accounts hacked. This is a simple warning for those who do not know yet. Spread the word that this isn't real!
If you have completed this properly, change your password immediately. Have a nice day.
wow, and my password is weak. Would only take a year..
'only' a year. A lot of passwords can be cracked in a matter of seconds. (A lot of people use passwords like password, 12345, or qwerty.
These are all super easy to crack, for obvious reasons. Unless you are the CEO of a big company, I highly doubt a hacker will spend a year trying to crack your password

Oddly though, I had a old Yahoo! account that got hacked years ago, and i still remember what ,MY password was..it would also take a year, but it did get hacked.. Guess i was important somehow..
And are people these days really THAT stupid to use password EVERYONE knows are easy? seriously a 5 year old could try a password like that.

What if you were part of a secret goverment agency, and when they didn't need you anymore, they erased your memory?! AHH!
I wouldn't be surprised if it all was true though. I know a couple people who use password. I keep telling them to change but they don't listen.
"Fine then! But don't come crying to me when you get hacked!"
ok, you are probably the most fun and stange in a good way member of these forums. and your posts generally bring t least a smirk to my face. Congratz! have a Lilo Cookie!

Thanks! I really like cookies. And I appreciate the nice comments
I have a very fertile imagination, as you probably already noticed.
Oh my, talk about going Off Topic! This thread was about a false website.. I almost forgot there.
Also, a strange fact: on that site, I made a 80 character long password, but all it is is consecutive counting integers from 1-80. Easy right? 1,2,3,4..78,79,80
79 billion quadragintillion years to hack it

Better start right now!
I'm not sure how cracking passwords works, but something 80 caracters long is literally impossible to figure out. The possibilities are almost endless!

Yep, but the computer cracking doesn't know that. I'm not sure if it tries doing consecutive numbers first, or it goes throught a list of the most common passwords... You know what? Be right back, I'm going to go hit up the geek squad.
If I remember correctly,123456 is the most common password, and other strings made up of consecutive numbers are common.Your 79-bazillion-year-strong password may not be as strong as you think.
Thats kinda the point.. I was SURPRISED it was that long.. re-read my posts

Just one more block...
Oh no, I hope no one has the name '1' and the password '1', because I just gave their info away!
minecon (dot) support | RedeemCape/
A fake minecon cape redemption page.
Oh hey that worked! Ahahahahaha!
Yep! All they hope you'll do is enter your real info and then creep into your account. Maybe to sell it.
But since we're smarter then them, we didn't log in with real info.
Right guys?
But luckily my friend tell me about this scam, so I quickly change my account password :>
I did that quite a few times! xD
25 caracters? Yeah, you're safe from a lot of things.
Just for fun I tried typing a 25 letter password into https://howsecureismypassword.net/ and let's say the results are quite shocking.
Get crackin' hackers!
