Rank Rules
1. In the Minecraft War, there will be three classes. Commander (one on each team), General (to be determined), and Soldier (the player).
2. All YouTubers will have the rank of at least General,
and two will have the rank of Commander, one on each
team.
3. The Commander rank will be achieved by a vote. Each
YouTuber will have only one vote. They cannot vote for themselves and the two YouTubers with the highest vote count will be made Commander. The YouTuber with the highest vote count will be made Commander of the Blue Team. The YouTuber with the second highest vote count will be made Commander of the Red Team.
4. The Commander’s powers are a follows; He can give orders for the military force at whole (ex. retreat, fall back, charge, take cover, advance, defensive position, etc). He can control the defensive/long range turrets/cannons. He can give the order to surrender. He can chat to the entire server, and automatically disconnect hackers.
5. The General’s powers are as follows; They can give orders to their battalion (ex. left/right flank, advance, fall back, defensive position, take cover, etc). They can (if completely necessary) join battle.
6. The Soldier’s powers are as follows; They can chat to their battalion General and all other soldiers. They are required to fight, directly or indirectly. They can edit the terrain with the permission of their battalion General.
7. NOTE: The General may not override the Commander’s orders, as the Soldier may not disobey orders (in the case of a Soldier going of on his own, that Soldier may not fire a distress signal).
Required Mods
The following mods on version 1.6.2 will be required for play: Little Blocks, Rei’s Minimap, Bspkrs Core, Armor Status HUD, Status Effect HUD, More Enchantments, Balkon’s Weapon Mod, Inventory Tweaks, More Bows, and OptiFine.
Setting
The Commander and his General subordinates will have
72 hours from the beginning to build and fortify their castle. Both castles will have a 5000x5000 limit and will face each other. 24 hours after the end of the 72 hour limit will be needed to run the final checks on the server, After a total of 96 hours (4 days) after the beginning of the build time, the battle will commence. The Commander will be centered in a control room overlooking the battlefield.
I've been thinking about whether something like this was possible a lot lately. I'd be interested in seeing if something comes of this. PM me if you need anything, I can't say I'm a good builder or anything, but I'm interested in seeing how this goes. One thing is that a siege doesn't have much meaning, because the attackers can bore through the walls in 20 seconds or less, so you probably want a open field or a forest. The open field means much more trench-warfare and formations running at one another, while the forest would make traveling in ranks harder and ambushes easier. You'd probably want to define a time period; combat with bows would be very different from a sword fight.
Here's an idea. What if you had some cavalry troops that could throw in a new element to the battle. I could see that being interesting.

Great idea, i can't believe i hadn't thought of Cavalry units. I will add that in a v1.1 of the plan.
i really like this idea and i'd love to help build but sadly i don't have a very reliable internet and not much time to play but i think another good idea would be to set up a very large world with castles with wide fields/ trenches far from eachother a mountainous terrain with a single valley running through it and a complicated way to get up the mountains but not impossible so that you'd have teams starting at different sections ambushes could happen in the valley and warefare would be fun/crazy on whatever side of the map the opposing team could get too and as to the siege being pointless due to them being able to tunnel through the walls you could always set up obsidian castles and not give out diamond gear to anyone.
Interesting, but I don't like that only if you're a youtuber you are permitted to have a chance, I think everyone should be able to vote for anyone else, and youtubers should get a special avantage, for example 2 extra votes.
