A style that I use that fits in the desert is growing crops underground. Also, if you live in the desert, you will have to have good mob defenses. I have even found a way to use a wooden door that zombies can not break through. If it is in the open position, they can't break into it.
I don't like snow because snowfall is quiet, but it still is obstructing. It is more obstructing than rain. The reason why i like to stay away from rain is it is too damn loud.
Extreme Hills and Forest. Forest, there is plenty of wood to collect and you can make a Treehouse Base and Extreme Hills you can make a hole in the hills and make it as your Home and there is lots of caves.
I like to build a home in a plains biome, but I always want interesting surroundings. I'm usually near a swamp, or a mountain, or a forest. I like to be in the center of as many biomes as possible, though.

......What? Were you expecting my signature to be funny, interesting, or include an advertisement for a server or YouTube channel? Nope.
I like to have only a little bit of my base be above ground, where most of the action is happening underground. I once had a sprawling underground base and the only way in was through a dirt house.
Deserts or Birch Forests M (what on earth is the plural of that anyway?). Deserts are nice since they don't use the godawful underwater bedding, and Birch Forest M is unique in that it doesn't look like an overgrown bonsai forest (which I personally HATE, which is why I never settle in a normal forest. No matter how realistic to the Minecraft world they may be).
If in Terrafirmacraft, though, generally in a forest with sequoia and douglas fir if I can manage it. I'll take one or the other if I can't find them both in the same area.
It all really depends on my mood where I set up shop per say. Although I have a tendency to build near Jungle and the now new biome mega taiga. I like to have my spruce, but don't like living in snowy biomes. Other than that swamp around a mountain was one time, and if a village is near by I might just decide to become part of that village. A few times it was just a hillside in a forest or plains to an underground base. I always seem to have at least 1 underground base if it is not my mine first, or both...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I settle in extreme mountains. I build a home atop a mountain a make a staircase into the mountain. There i g deeper and deeper till I reach bedrock. So I start on top of the world and end in the bottom
I like to have a nice beach so I can build a nice beach house with a dock and boats. From there I can explore the oceans and find all sorts of other biomes.

I like oceans.Deal with it!
I adore the swamp the most but I also really like generated biomes that are a mix of plains, forests, and mountains? If that makes any sense
