You know, regardless of version, when you first play minecraft, and you don't even know about mods. That feeling that you want to go and survive, find a cave and make a hidey-hole, listen to the music. Kinda like in Man vs Minecraft season 1&2. just... feel.
And then, you start watching youtubers, adding mods, and getting creative, minecraft will still be really fun, but that early feeling is... gone. And you just cannot enjoy minecraft fully, get headaches after grinding for hours, and not even joining servers help.
I remember not having the faintest idea what I was doing, and spending my first few games getting blown up by merciless creepers and cowering in dirt holes without the benefit of doors.
I still get a bit of that feeling, though, whenever I fire up a new game. No food, no shelter, punch a tree and get started--the first day or two are always the most interesting for me.
All I remember is watching X's videos a month after the Alpha had started, immediately buying the game, getting incredibly frustrated with how inefficiently it was coded that I could only barely play it on my PC that could play much more graphically impressive games at the time, and then not playing it again until after 1.0 came, when the growing pains had been sorted out a bit.
I remember one my first world, I sailed away on a boat after living in a cave for a while, (I was so proud of the staircase I had made in that. xD) I wanted to find an island to make a castle on it. Didn't take long, sailed for like a minute and there was a little island!
I think the first night there was a thunderstorm, I quickly made a little dirt shelter and hid in that.
Then after a few days I had made a really small really ugly little castle! Seriously, it was tiny and it was a small square with little pillars sticking up in the corners... But I was proud of it! And I didn't know how to make doors to separate the rooms I made... >.<
Good times, Minecraft felt so different back then! Wish I kept that world. :/ I actually don't remember what I did to it, or what happened to it.

yes. i think minecraft is now kind of "annoying" because there is too much options. i prefered when i started.
i remember my first world, i find a mineshaft and i spawned a lot of mobs in a tnt-digged-hole! i make a lapis lazuli tower! this was funny! now minecraft is like off-felling i can't play mc with fun now
I was so excited to play minecraft when i first bought it at beta.
I spawned, digged a 4x4 hole on a wall that i can fit and stay there for night.
The night came, and i stayed at my little shelter with 3 blocks open from top to see outside. (I had no idea of monsters)
Then i started to hear spider sounds, tssss!
I went out to check what it was, and i was also scared a little.
The spider jumped off the wall to my head and i pressed LMB until it dies and ran back to my shelter and closed the entrance with a couple of dirts.
I was so afraid of going into caves then, now, i am not afraid anymore, because i know what's in there.
I was running to my home scared when it was night, because i was afraid of the creepers.
Now, it doesn't have the same excitement like before, i wish it had the same feeling again.
It was 1.3 beta when I started playing Minecraft, so I don't remember exactly my first hours of it. I only remember that the first night came suddenly and I wasn't prepared for it. The whole night I spent on a small island and hostile mobs couldn't reach me. When the sun rose, I built a small house from wood near the spawn point where I lived during lots of days and nights until I got bored and created a new world.
Sometimes I remember this awesome feeling...
I remember when I first saw caves due to a render glitch. I thought, "I'm gonna get down there some day!" Now I can do it like it's nothing. I thought the world was insane and ravines where so cool and deep.
That innocent feeling when you start is priceless.
Over time, yeah you just sort of know everything with the world so the mystery and adventure from the early days is gone. But I still have a lot of fun with it.
the sensation of discorvery, that sensation that made you guess that first crafting recipe, that sensation that made you go in a cave for shelter and then run out persued by zombies.
that sensation that made you want to build big, that sensation that made organizing a minecraft day important and fun.
that sensation where you dont know a thing on how to survive except eating and shelter.
finding out at the last moment of creepers at night, getting scared to death from endermen, making a place that you call safe with a door some windows a cute little kitchen.
discovery is the best sensation a videogame can have.

I remember back in Beta 1.3 my first world I hallowed out some small island I found, cowered in the dark until I built a house, and looking back I think "Glad that nightmare's over."

I remember incredibly well how I jumped around in a cave me and by siblings dug out to create a "house", running forth and back between the cave and the "workbench" as it was called back then, to create torches, I had no idea I could create them in my inventory. I also remember the silly beds we used to make out of wool and halfslabs, I went to being as advanced as signs even.
But still, I have become more and more involved into the community of minecraft over the years, and I have learnt alot about the game. For me, the magic of the game is still there, because even though I've played this for three years now, I discover new things I can do every day.
lol on my very first night, sorry to say this, my first EVER was in creative, though my first survival
is when I first watched PSJ's how to survive and thrive tutorials. oh and this was in Beta 1.7-ish. then I went in, digged into hills to find coal with my bare hands, and then ended up cowering from zombies while outrunning skeles and then getting blown up by a creeper and finished off by a skele's headshot. Yea, I didn't listen very well when watching that tutorial.
Ahhhhh the good old days, when there where no real bioms and everything was an endless forest of oak trees or not oak trees. I remember not knowing what I was to do, how to craft anything, I was alone, isolated, with the dead walking all around me. I somehow managed to climb up into the side of a mountin that had a small natural cave in it. I found a way to place blocks and protect myself. Thus began the tale of Gates, occasional zombie puncher when I feel like it. The story got more dramatic when I learned hey, I could craft stuff out of these blocks.
Then came multiplayer, which was buggy as ! The immortal chicken was my favorite multilayer bug. No matter how hard we tried, the super mega chicken would not die, not to fire, not to lava, not to swords or foul language. Was such an epic mega chicken.
Minecraft was one of those games that offers a special moment you only get when you first learn how to do anything.
My first EVER world was where I flew around and made glowstone towers trying to "light up the entire world somehow" and then later I made a castle out of redstone ore thinking it was ruby ore. then lighting it up with redstone torches and putting redstone wire on da ground, seeing it light up from da torches
I have owned the game since Alpha 1.1.2_01, I still remember my first night. I built a house out of logs (I did not know about the inventory screen or crafting) and I hid inside smacking anything that tried to enter with a sapling (I thought it was a stick and was supposed to be used as a weapon).

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
Oh GOD NO! Now all i hear is endless stories of your near-death experiences, or hating on the newer versions. I started playing in 1.5.2, (Yup, i'm new, hate me!) i entered a world, and i just walked around doing nothing. Now i just go, wood, tools, shelter, food, coal, iron, diamond, obsidian, Nether, blaze powder, ender pearls, stronghold, end, dragon. When i loaded up first, i was just... i was.
And then, you start watching youtubers, adding mods, and getting creative, minecraft will still be really fun, but that early feeling is... gone. And you just cannot enjoy minecraft fully, get headaches after grinding for hours, and not even joining servers help.
Do you remember?
