Asuador, this discussion isn't for explaining why mods won't be added into Minecraft. This is simply for posting what kind of mods you would want to see in Minecraft and why. I don't think anyone here wants to hear why a mod won't work

So you want to add a mod into the game for everyone that negatively effects how my computer is able to play it and I am not supposed to say anything about it? uhh...you know what you can do with that idea, right?
Some mods should be added. I don't use mods much, but I can single out some features to add to the game, such as HD textures support and the zoom feature from optifine, the shaders mod (as an advanced option in video settings) and maybe a few ideas for a new boss from divine rpg

Well, sorta. He disagrees with adding mods to the game, so why can't he post it here? It'd be a bit redundant to make a new topic.
I agree with ausador, I'd rather just the API. No mods, especially Mo' Creatures or Optifine. Instead of Optifine, I'd rather some actual optimization in the code, that'd probably be a lot more effective, but more costly.
But its alright to take a bit from mods, but please, not the full thing if its a more larger mod.
Cool but I don't think it will work if Mojang made there own flavour. Jeb/Dinnerbone promised improved FPS in 1.5 within 2 minutes I had to get OptiFine.
Herobrines Mansion was unplayable on my friends laptop (even on the 1.5) until he got Optifine

Then you have bad PCs. Besides, 1.5 was quite glitchy and a lot of that was fixed in 1.5.2.
Have any of you heard of the mod Balkon's weapons? As it sounds, it adds more weapons such as a war hammer to the game. Does having more weapons added into Minecraft vanilla sound good?
the way you fix the folks who make Optifine making money on the side is to hire their ass and buy the rights to their code. Mojang realized it needed to build a modding Interface and realized that there was code already floating around that did what they wanted and so they hired the Bukkit team. I would not be surprised that once the Modding Advanced Player Interface is done that the first official mods added will be Optifine and MCPatcher.
So these are want I think should be added:
Optifine - for memory use optimization and more graphical coustomization
Cartograph G - as a main menu option
MC Patcher - for increased graphical capabilities and texture expansion
World Edit - this would be more "Supported Bundleware" then a Mod. Could be a way to increase revenue going forward because you could purchase a "Deluxe" Mincraft package that includes a copy of the latest version of this. (and "Premium" Minecraft could also come with a two year subscription to Realms and a Minecraft Tee or Coffee Mug of your choice from the Mojang store (a $20 value! CALL NOW!!!!)
Shader - Added as an option to the video Options
I'd also like to see Mojang release official versions to the default texture pack in 16, 32, 64, 128, and 256 bit once they add MC patcher.

That's it.

And Single player commands. (Maybe worldedit?)
Hey everyone, I'm back!
Mojang tried adding Optifine. The maker refused.
They should probably make there own flavor

They are optimizing it, just in different ways.
