No gaming experience is going to be universally applicable to all gamers, especially ones that give the player the level of role-playing freedom Minecraft does. One thing I love - as a veteran Minecrafter - is that there isn't a "correct" way to play this game. In spite of it being incredibly simplistic on first glance, it's also equally in-depth and will always give the player what they put into it. Perhaps these people are "obsessed" with the game because of things you might have taken for granted. But that's just me.
Minecraft is like 2007 all over again. Everyone were talking about things like the PS3 and the iPhone. There wouldn't be ONE conversation without the word "iPhone, PS3" Something like that... What is wrong with this world?
