I don't like him either and I'm definitely not fond of some of the kids who watch him (which I'm sure are a minority by the way, they just out stick much more than the quieter fans), but jeez. Heavens forbid somebody likes a different form of media than you.

You realize that there is nothing that can make squids "Talk" without you making them say certain things? There is nothing wrong with squids, they are like any mob. They live and they just sit there. I can relate to the annoyance, but I call it butter from time to time too (atmittedly), the arguments you pose being entirely logical and worthwhile. But, in the same stroke of logic, Why then, are you not questioning many other aspects of the game. Such as, how can dirt and stone float? Why do OAK trees drop Apples? Why do our feet not burn when we walk on freshly watered Lava that turned into obsidian? How do zombies now in 1.5 produce other zombies from air? HOW are any of the mobs created from air!? When did wheat and carrots and seeds become aphrodisacs? How do we respawn after death if death is supposed to be the end all? AND A DRAGON that when you kill it you get an egg that teleports if you punch it!?

Its a game, people enjoy what they enjoy. Its unfortunate that not everyone finds humor in things others do. But I'm sure there are things you think is hilarious, that others question as well.

This thread isn't focused on righting every logical failure pertaining to minecraft, it's solely about why gold is not butter, or even more so "buddar"

So I did, and yes, that is indeed a bar of gold.

The gold bullion is used by the company as a comparison used to show how sexy their gold is, or at least Something along those lines.

The gold bar icon obviously looks a bit like a pat of butter. This is not a particularly astounding or clever observation to make and most people would notice the slight resemblance and move on.

Some dolt thought they were being sharp by calling it butter out loud. He/she was wrong.
Some children noticed what the dolt had said and thought that if they repeated it, it would somehow make them popular. They were wrong.

Kids have always invented their own silly expressions and adults have always thought them misguided and immature for doing so. It’s just the way of things.

This particular fad is especially tragic though, since it lacks any form of wit or intelligence.
I think that’s why it grates on some people’s nerves so much. They feel it demonstrates the continued dumbing down of society and makes them worry about the parlous state of the public’s intellect.
They shouldn’t get too worked up though, since it’s just children at play and not necessarily an indication of falling IQs.

I’d love these forums to have a more consistently mature level of discussion, but at the same time I accept that Minecraft is a game for all ages and that everyone has a right to contribute.

So I guess ‘Budda’ just comes with the territory.
