Though all your points are pretty valid, I have to say it is pretty immature that you are leaving because minecraft didn't stay the way YOU wanted it to. I believe everything in minecraft is added for a purpose, and all it is doing is trying to make it a better experience for the players of minecraft.
why does it matter who and how many say what the game is? If everyone on this forum all banded together and suddenly decreed that minecraft shall be used for no other purpose than to make a cutting edge redstone computer, why should that stop you from building a sand castle? Would you have a problem with the community? Sure, I mean, I would. But should that provoke you to quit the game under the assumption that you can no longer use it for anything other than building redstone computers? No, why would it?
And if you're going to nitpick other features of the game, fine. If you have a problem with hunger, rarity or texture switches and that's a reason for you to leave, ok. Cool. Leave then. I'm sorry you feel obligated to over such minor things, but that's nothing more than personal preference. But that wasn't why you said you're leaving. You're leaving because you feel like Minecraft is turning into an RPG. And I'll go ahead and restate the point you've dodged over and over again, that there is absolutely nothing that makes you play the game like an RPG. Is the community playing it like that? Maybe, but that doesn't mean you have to. Are the developers encouraging it with recent updates? I could see someone arguing that, but that isn't going to stop me from getting onto creative mode, AKA the polar opposite of an RPG.
Oh, and I do see your last point. Matter of fact, I could easily be persuaded to agree with it. Sometimes community input is a little overdone, and it can get stale. But as said above, that isn't the reason you left (and/or are leaving).

I'm going to point this out to you guys.
TRAPPED CHESTS
ARE GENERIC
AND IN EVERY RPG
And to accept that is to say I'm stupid enough to buy the same game over and over again. I am a gamer and it is my right to say I refuse to accept something. This is not bad at all. In fact, it could be constructive if given the proper light. If you accept everything, then you never find out the problems. If someone does leave because there is a problem, then that problem can be addressed.
Okay, now that I got my point across, sleepy time.
He is immature because he doesn't like the game? HA
Do you mind if I put this in my signature instead of that picture? I'm sure people will find it much more funny!
Lets take a step back now.
Look at Gmod. Now imagine if you had to east some form of food that you could only occasionally acquire or had to grow over a longish period of time.
Sure, it's not exactly like Minecraft, but you get the point. If it's a sandbox, I can do everything I want, right? Unless it is not eating, because I have to eat.
Immature because over such small minorities, he feels the need to quit it completely.
Oh, and you also don't have to be so rude.
Thank you and goodnight. Or morning. Where ever you may be
Immature because over such small minorities, he feels the need to quit it completely
Lame argument is lame to validate own argument.
If I throw a fit over how they should not have added them like every other post is immaturity. Saying "I quit" and downgrading is mature because it means I know what I like and not what other people want me to like. I'm not going to force you to drink Sassafras daily, am I? (It's root beer with licorice).
To not accept something means you're not a zombie with its wallet out ready to buy anything that catches its eye.

I respect your argument, and I may be the one mistaking what you are trying to say, but it might very well be the fact that I am a natural blonde. Also, because this is what happens when I get into arguments. I look very stupid. I should stop doing that, you know? Well if you are quitting minecraft hopefully you will join up again someday, and I hope wherever your paths may take you it'd be good fortune.

Thanks. Enjoy the snapshots, they just aren't for me anymore.
You make very valid points, however everything you just described is optional, I urge you to give minecraft a break, and come back later and see if you still think this, it may just be you getting bored of the "same old thing".

Please don't bring up the "optional" thing. Nothing is optional. I can't turn off certain blocks or turn off certain features.

OK, let's get something straight here. This does not, nor will it ever resemble Call of Duty styled "rebuying." I flat out do not get the analogy here. Maybe I'm in the dark, but last time I checked I don't need to pay a subscription just to get the new patches. You already bought the game. I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about when you say that you're "rebuying" it. Furthermore, it is your right to refuse to accept it. I'm just still trying to figure out the logic behind that choice. Because you could cite any number of reasons for leaving, but your number one priority reason why makes absolutely no sense. Because like I said, there's nothing making you play it like an RPG.
Because it has a generic RPG component that automatically makes it only an RPG? Somehow by some screwed up associative property, Minecraft + RPG Components = Minecraft RPG + Components? The introduction of trapped chest sure as hell wasn't a game changer for me. It barely registered a blip on my radar, lol.
...or is it a different property? I don't know. I suck at math.
Actully some people, well many people likes the new update!! I mean I'm sorta-new. I played minecraft at Alpha 1.2.5 and when I found iron. Im scared to use it even for a sword. Now I got more Irons and I like it. The other thing is that at Minecon 2012. My friend watched the live stream and he said that Jeb asked the audience what they should add in minecraft. So if you want to get ot just because of the new update, then just leave. Im sorry to say that but other people like the new update. So dont think about yourself and think about the other people who likes the new update. Actually I dont mind with the update. I can play minecraft like 1.2.5 even with the new update.

Ah...I'm not even going to bother arguing this anymore. I'm saying I'd be stupid for accepting everything without question.
see, I said that.

DOES THIS
MATTER TO YOU?

You know what? You're right. In fact, thank you for telling me all this information that is now in my brain for my knowledge. Hold on, I got a congratulatory bat that I used to bash thick skulls in.

The developers come before the player. The player comes before the game. That is the hierarchy and it should not be messed with. Some suggestions are good, too many tend to take the project off-track or send it in a different direction than what the creators had originally intended. I am thinking of everyone when I do this. It's not about my likes and dislikes, but the likes and dislikes of everyone.
Also, when was the last time you asked what did THEY want to add? Never?
I will agree, the image of the current game is a little... off... from what I thought it would turn into back in alpha.
Honestly, though, I love the game how it is. That's not to say I don't miss alpha or 1.7.3, I just don't feel it's necessary to go back in time to remove a feature that, in my opinion adds some content to the game. I do have grievances with the current game, but with all the updates they've been pushing out they have been getting resolved little by little.
I respect Mojang as a company. I stand by everything they do because I'm loyal to them and love everything they do. I have no urge to complain about what they do, because they work hard to do it. They ask the community what they want in the game, and when it finally gets added there are still people who complain that they added it. I've never understood the MCF community, but they are a bunch of ungrateful people who don't understand the hard work Mojang does. I'm sick of seeing threads like this and people like you who can't keep their bad opinions to themselves.
Please, stop playing the game. Get off the forum, and don't come back. The respectable side of this community doesn't want you here.
That's it? You're just going to insult me? You're going to start this whole storm by saying "I don't like this game because now I think it's bad", waste all of my time and then instead of actually answering the same 1 statement that almost everyone here has been pounding into your head since the first reply, you're just going to insult me? Disgusting.
Oh well... what's the old saying? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me? Should've realized from the beginning that there wasn't a logical response in here. So I guess all I can say is goodbye and good riddance, the less ignorance I see in my day, the better I am for it.

You're rude and the respectable side only counts as like 1% of which you are not with that attitude. Just because I don't like something does not mean I am not loyal to them. I mean, would you follow your president if he decided to kill all the Blacks? I wouldn't. Loyalty means to know when to speak up and say "This isn't right." Following blindly leads to problems that could have been avoided.
I can't deny that they work hard, but I am very grateful for all they have done in the past months. My departure should not be taken as I'm ungrateful, but rather that there might be something wrong that the community isn't catching, instead praising everything they do.
I used to complain until I actually tried them. However, with trapped chests, I cannot bring myself to do it.

Sorry, it's like 1 in the morning here, I can't really make feasible arguments at this point so I'm standing down.
I'm not trying to hate or anything, but you said you eventually grew to like potions and enchantments, so why can't you grow to like this snapshot?
Also coal has never been difficult to find so charcoal doesn't really nerf it that much. If one is at the level where he or she is killing wither skeletons, gathering coal is also not a problem for them.
What you said about gold and cats, however, I agree with. I want to know what you would like for them to add though. Would you want stuff like what the industrialcraft and buildcraft and better than wolves mods provide?

Your argument is invalid. Seriously, Like it matters if they lose 1 player.
I've been playing since August of 2010, and I like some of the changes, and their are other things I don't use.
I see it now, you'll be back.

Sorry, not all of us have state-of-the-art machines with several gigs of storage.
Invalid it may be, 1 player can always change the perceptions of hundreds
