EDIT: Major Editing to stop with the the constant stream of people who apparently read one line and give up.
1) I'm going back to alpha
2) Minecraft is adding random bits and bobs
3) I have not lost faith in Mojang
4) Survival seems to be dying off while Creative is getting all kinds of additions.
5) I have had it with the weekly updates and some particular additions:
- Endermen suck
- Creepers are afraid of kitty kats
- Toss a bed down, sleep, done
- Half of the updates seem not completely fleshed out
6) If you tell me to use a mod or that everything is optional, turn around right now.
While all of your points are valid, pretty much all you mentioned is optional you don't have to do those things or use those items. It has been said before, this game is defined as a sandbox do what you want with it. You don't have to trade with villagers or use any of the new features.

Overused argument is overused. Besides, that's a lame one that shouldn't even be said in anywhere.
I'm not trying to force people to go back to Alpha. It's just that, if I update to the lastest snapshot, I'll be no better than those that play Call of Duty or Battlefield. I'm also not saying that Alpha is better in anyway. I just wanted to share why I, among thousands, am probably the first that's going to permanently leave the "current" minecraft.

Yes of course you are free to do as you wish. However I don't get your Call Of Duty Or Battlefield analogy.

So I don't have to use hunger and the new terrain? If only I could do that.

Look, that's where the issue starts with these arguments. What you are saying is like Call of Duty adding ponies into their game.
They don't fit
But with Minecraft many different things suit (RPG Especially)
To be honest the RPG elements the have introduced really don't do that much (at least that I don't use)
With Minecraft you can choose it to Be an RPG Experience or a Sandbox one, Remember it's a free game
You choose
If the game was still in the state that i started it in i would be extremely bored. They have done an absolute fantastic job in integrating RPG elements to a sandbox game to create an even more unique one. The thing i find funny about your post is that you keep complaining how it's not a sandbox anymore, yet you complain about the addition of decorative items? That's what a sandbox is.
That said, your points about coal and iron being useless are also flawed. Iron isn't "useless" because you can gather SMALL amounts of it other than mining. Coal isn't useless because a rare mob drops one occasionaly.
And i honestly can't see how this update would be the "last straw". It adds more possibilities to the game, which makes it an even better sandbox.

Well, there goes the "little abuse." Thanks for piling it all up.
Anyway, I have nothing against the decorative blocks. My problem is that it's more about the decor than the Mining and Crafting aspects (well...I guess there is a bit of crafting.).
I meant worthless. I misspoke. Wait...Coal IS useless. Night vision potion plus the addition of the Brightness bar.
I care so now your statement is false. Jetra, perhaps you could create a multiplayer alpha 1.2.6 server. I'm sure many people including myself would like that. I hate modern day minecraft and I'm not sure why I still play it. I can't even stand single player anymore.

So coal is useless because you can see in the dark? Ever heard of mobs? Don't like the brightness bar or the night vision potion? Don't use them, if you find them overpowered. That's the beauty of this game, you aren't obligated to anything.
I don't see how mining has become a lesser aspect at all. You still go mining if you want resources, and there are even more ores now. Your "problem" is that the game now has more aspects than just that and you are too close-minded to realize that the game doesn't get worse if it has more aspects.

Well yes it is overused but realize how you did not refute it? Because it is kind of true...
It's not the same. If I gave you a pie and you refused to eat it, the pie is still there...taking up space...which causes lag.
Hahaha whatever floats your tipsy boat.

I think we have a sandbox all ready, and the RPG elements just add
Hey everyone, I'm back!
Praise be to Spode.
Its the same game that's re-released over and over. People are stupid to buy it over and over again at the $60 price tag.
I know, it's just that its becoming a Generic RPG like a D&D clone of some kind
....

Hey everyone, I'm back!
*Tips hat* Your the first person to put aside the game and look at the player I have met in a long while
Well I suppose I understand how you feel as well, I do miss Beta as well
