I dug out the area near bedrock and left the ores in place. You can see from the pictures how the ores all distributed.
The area in the middle of the picture shows the distribution of the ores. If somebody dug a mine shaft down the middle they would dig a long way without hitting any ores.
The areas on in the top left corner, along the walls and bottom right were dug out before I took this picture. The white areas are sandstone half slabs to disable slime spawning.
I don't think there needs to be a point actually. I think this is cool, and shows me the distribution of the ores near bedrock. I have never seen anything like this before. How interesting.

how did you do that? world edit or something? Just leaving the ores?
