Really? I love everything Jeb is adding, and you can still do everything you could previously do!
Also, try beating the Ender Dragon. Done, do you feel accomplished? If you do, good. Now you can go back to your home with the legendary reward of the dragon egg! Continue to build and roam freely. Now does that sound like you beat the game? No, it doesn't to me.
Mods are a HUGE part of MC. Where do you think smooth lighting came from? Where do you think a lot of this content came from? Mods. They are a huge way of playing MC, ever heard of Tekkit? Not a fan of it myself, but everyone loves it, and guess what? It is a mod pack!
Terraria is a great game, so I'd like if it became a bit more like it. Not firearms and all of that, but new ores and such. I mean do we have epic dungeons in Minecraft? The closest thing is a stronghold, and that isn't very fun (When you get eyes of ender thought :P).
Adventuring. Why would you possibly disagree? I mean really, don't you want to add some life to your game? Don't you like the nice pigs, cows, and the good old creeper? You know, the stuff that makes MC what it is now! Adventuring includes mining, so how would you possibly try to get that diamond block without going on an adventure to diamonds? A creeper is in the title, and that is a mob. Everyone loves the mobs, sword, and bows. It makes the game what it is! I mean what fun would it be just to build. All day. Only building, nothing else to do, just building and when you have no idea what else to build, why bother? Why bother go to the Nether and explore for glowstone, fight off pigmen and ghasts? I mean it never existed, so why bother go TO the nether? That wouldn't be fun now would it? What about all those fun game types they made for servers, like trouble in mineville, TF2, hypixel maps, arenas, all that? If we didn't have swords, bows, and all that, what would we have now? A game with only a purpose the build. Now competitive match with your friends, no pvp, no amazing game recreations, and probably half of MC videos! What would be the fun in that? What would be an achievement of sitting thinking what to build once you built everything? What would be the achievement in not guarding your home, or saving a friends life from enemies? What would this game be without the mobs, which give an experience bringing life to your world, what would be fun without a good old pvp match? What would be fun about that, please tell me more on how you believe this.

I really find this funny about how you hate on TMI and such, but you say that when you install modloader, TMI, forge, and all of that you are sad that the game crashes! XD
You guys do know that there is no way that Mojang can make 100% of the gamer's population happy with the changes? There will be people that dislike changes, or love the mods, or hate the mods, etc. There are so many features in the game and you do not have to use all of it. I know people that only uses creative mode or go to servers that involves creating magnificent looking buildings. I also know people that love using redstones to create some interesting contraptions. Me on the other hand actually like the adventorous part. I love exploring in large biome settings, finding some beautiful sceneries while fighting mobs and protecting villagers. If you don't like a certain part of the game then don't bother using it, either do something else in the game or play another game.
I really have to disagree. I think that each update adds better stuff. If you don't like an update, then DON'T UPDATE. And, I also find what
Phantom_Zelon posted to be really funny. You're hating on TMI and mods and stuff, yet on here: http://www.minecraft...st__p__18346194
You made a thread on how you installed minecraft forge, modloader, toomanyitems, and singleplayer commands and want to know why it crashes!!!! So ironic and hilarious!!! XD
The game is only complicated to people who make it complicated. To people who simply play to enjoy themselves, the game is just a game. A way to have fun. A way to make friends. A way to pass a few weary hours. A way to enjoy oneself after a day of hard work.
To the people who make the game more than it is, the game will never be fun.
Well, you can always go back to the alpha era. I have to agree with you on the "_Jeb flushing down the idea of Minecraft down the toilet," but ever since _Jeb took over, he expanded the Minecraft potential. Now minecraft is an interesting game with many features. Also, isn't Minecraft partly about building? By adding more features, _Jeb and the other awesome devs are "building Minecraft."
You probably weren't around in Beta, but when we got those updates, literally nobody complained. Now you see tons of complaint threads per day.
Something's up.
Also, nobody complains about bug fixes (which are what MC needs)
Ahahahahahaha plenty of people complained in beta and even alpha. There is a reason why some features simply never came to be. I remember the great lantern freak out rather well.
To everyone saying "this post is bull shat minecrafts the bomb"
I want you to follow these steps.
1. Attach ropes to your hands and feet.
2. walk/hop to your nearest water source.
3. jump in and drown.
For you are an complete as$hole who cant respect someones opinion and doesn't deserve to walk the earth.
I'm not saying if you don't agree with him your an as$, I'm saying if your being an as$ to him because you don't agree, kill yourself.
So long as my ability to create whatever I fell like creating is no hindered by the new updates, I couldn't care less if Minecraft is adding ton and ton of "Adventurish features." I'm in fact interested in exploring quite a few of them. The Merge of Single Player and Multiplayer code did hit the performance of single player worlds on my machine a little bit, but it's still completely acceptable (And frankly I need to upgrade the computer at some point in the not too distant future.)
I'm sorry but I have to completely disagree with the idea that Mods and Minecraft don't go hand in hand, and haven't done so for a very long time. I know of people who would have stop enjoying their time with Minecraft months or years ago if it wasn't for Mods. I myself am so far content with a simple texture pack, but I might try out some of the really high quality mods eventually. The modding scene for Minecraft is huge and as helped the growth of the game immensely.
One thing I would like : Mojang should try it's hardest to increase the number of building blocks we have available. The more the better as each new blocks can usually be used in thousands of different builts. Just think of the many many areas that could be enhanced by the addition of a few flower pots and framed items! We need more of that stuff.

I knew I smelled something. The unmistakeable odor of hypocrisy.
Sigh... This thread is just an example of how 80% of the community abuses the rest, which is the:
People who don't like the new features (AKA hipsters).
In my opinion our community is even worse than the terrain at this stage, and that's saying something. There's all these misspelling douchebags who can't justify their points well enough without throwing in "ur gay u suk" and being plain rude, impatient and immature. There's also all the people who started around beta stages and decide to give hipsters all the nonsense in these 6 pages of posts. I'm really tired of seeing these topics pop up, only to be flamed and pounded into the ground by hardcore critics and idiots alike. The way I see it, if the hipsters just be quiet then we'll get some peace and this community will improve. Also, if all those fanboys shut up and learn some manners and grammar, then that'll be a major improvement.
Yes, I don't like some of the new features, and I believe that most of them aren't avoidable, so the 'don't like it, don't use it' argument is invalid. The new sounds are such a pain. Yes, you can mute the game, but some people want to listen to some music discs or at least listen for hissing coming from right behind them.
The ssp/smp merge was totally annoying. I wouldn't have minded if the server was hosted publicly like ordinary servers, but limited to LAN? That's just horrible. Some friends are on different internet connections and they need to go through all the server bullcrap, as well as that annoying LAN lag while playing singleplayer. Does this help the majority of players? NO. Does this help children and people living together? YES. Does this help impatient little fanboys who don't understand the slightest bit about modding and coding? DEFINITELY. Why did I say 'impatient little fanboys' you ask? Well that's because the ssp/smp merge allowed quicker updates, which is good, but the problem is that a large part of the community is fine waiting, and can make do in the meantime with texture packs, mods, adventure maps and daily snapshots. But the impatient brats? They don't understand any of those optional things, so they whine at Mojang all day for updates to come out quicker and just be a big nuisance. Don't believe me about the impatient people? I've seen so many whining impatient idiots coming on temporary-vanilla servers and ragequitting before letting anyone explain to them that bukkit needs to be updated.
Now, back on topic with the new content. Back in the beta stages changes were thought out, but when 1.8 rolled along, all sorts of new things were pushed into the game, making that border between the nostalgic updates and the modern updates. Mojang didn't ask for community feedback at all. If they did listen to the community at that time then instead of the end, we would have the skylands. Instead of the enderdragon, we would have the red dragon. Instead of this horrible terrain, we would have interesting and unique lands that had so much height variation that our eyes would water in amazement. About 20 or so days ago dinnerbone himself replied to 'Did the terrain become BORING?' megathread and revealed terrain sliders. This is the first ever time I've heard Mojang address something that the community didn't like. After an entire freaking year Mojang comes over to the discussion forums and says 'Hm! What's this topic? Boring terrain.... Pictures.... Better do something then!' And when they finally bring something that's supposed to solve the problem we get a bunch of terrain options that belong in terrain mods such as Exalm's mods and the better world gen 3 mod.
A to you if you actually read all of that, but I've had it now. This has seriously gone too far. Mojang has to do something now before our community goes down further than CoD's or *gags* roblox's.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
Someone pissing and moaning that they don't like the direction the game is going.

I hate the End. I've only gone to it once, and that was to get some Endstone for my Wizards Tower. I also use Strongholds to get Mossy Stone Bricks.
But the idea of The End isnt very good.
Everything else in your post is extremely biased and stupid....<_<

Enchanting table. Every wacko fundamentalist throws an explosion.
Round sun. Every wacko fanboy begins to scream their heads off.
Round moon. Fanboys start ripping the plaster off the walls.
Wolves. People complain. Better than Wolves mod is made.
The End. People start throwing a fit because Minecraft has an end.
New Terrain. The world ends.
I seem to remember a lot of whining back in beta...
I knew I smelled something. The unmistakeable odor of hypocrisy.
I think you're being hasty. I'm sure Jrmb4 plans to kill himself after this post, to maintain consistency.
