Encryption does not work backwards, there is no way to reverse an encryption, the only way to check what an encryption says is to plug in text to an encrypter and if the output is the same as the encrypted data, then that's what the encrypted text says. So, (assuming he's right and it is encrypted)the only way to find out what is said in the encrypted portion would be to generate nearly infinite paragraphs randomly while running them through an encrypter and checking if you get a close match. It would take very long to do, with a powerful computer, and it most likely not be worth it.
The assets.minecraft.net server is where all versions since 1.8 pre are held for download, including a few other things relating to minecraft. It's really no secret, it was never meant to be hidden. It's just there.

Of course he's right. The file has a ****ing password. That's how it's encrypted. The password is the private key for the encryption algorithm.

ok here is my hypotheses since the thing above it is named sopa and there was a banner on the launcher for sopa i think there is gonna be a banner for minecon.
i just download it and i can't figure out what is the password. i think that some programs may become useful in this cases, such as password-find programs
