note: Then I mention a group of people in my posts, i mean the majority of information i have seen from that group, and my statement may not be accurate for every individual in that group.
Then the people who still hold the copyright to Infiniminer can take notch to court? Ugh kids (and people who post like kids)...
Just like there's room in the market for both Starcraft AND Command and Conquer, there is room for Minecraft and Fortresscraft and this game and the hundred other clones out there (anyone making a MC clone with the intent of hopping onto notch's coattails to make a lot of money is pretty dumb now that the market is saturated, admittedly).
Cheap ripoffs that have nice highlights like that are actually probably a good thing for business. If someone plays this game, and likes the crafting system, as well as the building... it's a good thing. They're going to hear MINECRAFT IS BETTER from every direction, and hearing that, they'll probably buy minecraft.
As long as the creator isn't a total tool like the Fortresscraft guy, being super hostile about it. Sure, it's great for business. It's like free advertisement.
Once again: The term is "clone" and it is a completely legal thing to make. Every popular game has at least a half-dozen poorly made, poorly funded clones.
^ all good games get Cloned in one form or another, the Originators of content awesome enough to get cloned should take it as the compliment it is
In case you didn't know, Minecraft was inspired by a game called Infiminer. So I could call Minecraft a ripoff using the same idea that you are using. I could also call Battlefield a ripoff of Call of Duty, or the other way around.
no no no no no, just NO.
Battlefield 1942 released 2002
Call of Duty released 2003
Guys it isn't a bad game. It is an indie game, which allows xbox players to play until the real Minecraft comes out. It is the best of its competitors right now, and will die out when the real game comes. No big deal.
"Clones" and competition is not a bad thing. It's good because it sets pressure on the developers which in Minecrafts current development is a good thing because lets face it. It's slow, broken and unfinished.
Are they using the jolicraft texture pack?! wow, they cant even make their own textures...
too be honest, this game puts minecraft too shame. if it was better funded i would go as far as this game would be alot better then minecraft. i really hate to admit it, but it really does look like a better game.
I've played it, and it's honestly the worst game I've played since New Vegas. And when I looked at the server list, there were only about three of them without about two to three people on each.
Just let it go and forget about it. It'll kill itself soon.

Get the facts straight
guyskids saying that this new game is ripping off Minecraft need to get the hell over it.So there's a game out that takes the basic Minecraft formula and makes a game out of it.
Big whoop.
Ever hear of Saints Row? Yeah. It ripped off GTA by having a sandbox crime game.
Nothing happened.
So all you kids need to stfu about a separate game ripping off Minecraft.
It doesn't affect you in any way whatsoever.
You can't copyright using a pickaxe to break stone
You can't copyright cave exploring
You can copyright source code
You can copyright names
These games are not using Minecraft's name, or it's source code. They are perfectly legal
