Hey everyone, my friend was showing me this launcher that gives you any .jar of any version of minecraft you want. If you have payed though however. My question is: to trust or not to trust? it wont let me "play offline" so I would have to put in my account info. I do not want people hijacking my account. What should I do? Thanks.
EDIT: oh an the link: http://digiex.net/minecraft/mcvtool/

Piracy? have this and I put it on the forums and they called it piracy
It has the same format as the normal launcher, take a look. I think I can just use my normal .minecraft and swap out the downloaded jars? :s
its piracy? It wont let you use the tool if you have not inputted your username or password. Im not sure, I havent used it myself yet. My friend told me this.

The Digiex launcher is completely safe. They do not get your password. I hate to bring back dead threads but I simply cannot believe what I have read.
The Digiex launcher does not take your password. All it does is create a new interface for the vanilla launcher and make older jar files downloadable. Nothing more.

It's not going to let you play offline because you haven't logged in through the launcher yet, just like the vanilla launcher. Otherwise the game would be free for singleplayer.

I get an error saying "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SLL/TLS secure channel." Anyone know what this means?

The same way you always do.
