Not all the time. Someone complained about the lava never going away bug was fixed(lava would stay even though the source was gone)
Seems like 1.7 might help the terrain. Edit woo page claim!
I really hated that bug!
It was one of the most noticeable ever.
Listen people, You are all agreeing to say that the 1.7.3 terrain is mich better and you guys want it back and I respect your opinion because I agree with you. But what I'm saying is you should be happy with minecraft the way it is.You still like minecraft don't you? You can go and tell off making about the terrain generation. This post had just corrupted us all to fighting and arguments so I'm leaving.
Have fun trying to get your point through!
Listen person.
I'll say this to you again, we are not promoting the return of the pre-1.8 terrain, but proposing a different generator entirely.
People who complain are trying to improve the game.
Someone compalined that Minecraft is ruined when the Anvil turns the item name into italics, only (as you said) when people discuss properly is when complaining is helpful.
Ick, looks pretty ugly. How hard would it be to just use the regular hardened clay and the white stuff to make something similar to that red rock biome someone posted a while back?
Either way my faith in Mojang just took a huge hit. Starting to think about picking up Java or C++ as soon as I get a new computer.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
Great. Looks like Jeb too believes the best way to improve minecraft is by merely adding more and more content. He doesn't realize that the crap they add is fun to look at once, maybe twice.
For example:
All Biomes
X-Hills
Rivers
Sand Temples
Jungle Temples
Strongholds
Mineshafts
Ravines
Villages
...witch...hut...
Nether Fortress
The End
and more.
Not saying I hate all these but the game would be far more interesting if instead they worked on giving more variation in terrain with height tree density and what not
Tinted clay canyons, really? I guess I have to change my mind about re-texturing hardened clay for actual decoration purposes. Also, someone please explain Jeb canyons are just big ravines, not a biome in itself.
I've got a feeling this is yet another bubble-world biome like the rest of them, I guess I'll have some fun exploring one the first time, maybe twice.
I thought the entire point of sending the letters was to notify Mojang that this was an issue and how to fix the issue correctly?
Bloody good those letters did. Sure will be annoying if Dinnerbone comes here after the update is finished and says "hey guise we fixed the problem so have fun".
So far, though, it seems that Mojang has been taking the second worst possible route for a biome update (the worst possible one would require the people at Mojang to be brainless so it's essentially the worst route). Allow me to repost this:
-Mojang makes a biome update and these biomes contain a ton of new blocks. Mojang makes a terrain update and these biomes are removed, but the blocks they introduced are still in the game; this makes it INEFFICIENT as the same biomes could have been implemented later without wasting time coding the biome in now, but the blocks are still in the game for Mojang to use in remaking the biomes.
-Mojang makes a biome update and these biomes contain no new blocks. Mojang makes a terrain update and these biomes are completely paved over since the only code added was in the biomes. This makes the update a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME as everything in it will be removed.
-Mojang makes a biome update, but a terrain update is never added in the future. This is STUPID as the biomes do not fix the exploration aspect and will leave the terrain just as predictable as it was before the update. It will also leave Minecraft as a game vulnerable to be usurped by another game since all it would have is building (and maybe good combat but if Mojang goes down this path then I doubt they'll do something beneficial for the game like a combat update).
-Mojang makes a biome update, and the new terrain generator is compatable with the old biomes. I cannot tell, but this looks like it would be worse than making a new generator that has a side effect of not being compatible with old biomes since the current biomes allow for very little variation. Who knows what would happen, but I bet this kind of generator wouldn't solve ALL of the generator's problems.
So far, there are no new blocks, so if Mojang adds no new terrain-related blocks this update, then a terrain update will completely eradicate everything 1.7 ever did. At least there may or may not be cherry trees?
Did any of you forget that this is all work in progress stuff?
Yes, but it seems that the route they're going to is the wrong route. It seems that they're just adding more technical biome, which really won't fix the lack of variety in the terrain. I'm just hoping it's not what it seems.
I'm noticing those rocklands are next to the desert and fit decently well (Minus some sudden color changes) and the sand transitions with it. Maybe we won't be seeing them right next to a jungle or taiga biome. At the very least, I hope temperature system comes back. Sadly, it may just end up being a sub-biome for deserts, which is not what we want at all.
Remove the yellow stained clay and let it layer more nicely and it's good enough for me.
In fact I just noticed that dead bushes can be planted on stained clay now.

This is how I imagine you sitting at your desk, reading the replies headed toward your comments:
I hope that 1.7 will at least partially fix the terrain, but I highly doubt it, considering the amount of info they've given to us. Did they read the letter we sent, or did they just throw it in the shredder?
If we get desperate enough, we could make a post on reddit's r/minecraft because Jeb actually reads that.

New biome maybe?
I've lost all faith in Mojang now.

IMO it'd look significantly nicer without the red, yellow, orange, and grey stained clay. Orange is give or take, actually, but the rest look awful.

Mostly correct about the reaction, except for the suit.
