I've been feeling conflicted about whether or not this will be feeding the trolls. I've decided it is, but I feel I have to speak my mind about 5 year olds whining about the New Minecraft.
Shut up about it. The Discussion forum used to be a fun place to go, but now the only topics are kids posting topics in Caps-Lock about how much they hate Notch's updates.
And if you're about to say, "I've been playing longer than you so STFU", I'll tell you right now that chances are I've been playing longer than you have. I've been playing since the day the Halloween Update came out, and I don't think any less of Minecraft than I used to. In fact, I only keep the Halloween update version out of occasional Nostalgia, 99% of the time I'm playing 1.8.1 or 1.9p4.
I don't know how people will react to this. I don't know how the Mods will react to this topic either. All I know is that the mods will either make a rule that will eventually make kids stop whining, or this topic will be closed. The people on this forum will either laugh at me for blowing off steam or will agree with me. Either one is fine by me. Either one will be justified, because right now I'm actually kind of whining about kids whining, which is kinda funny because it's a tiny bit hypocritical.
So yes, I think I've made my point. I'm really not trying to make myself seem superior, because this will seem like an angry topic. I just want people to accept Minecraft as-is, since Notch is doing everything he can to keep people satisfied (even if he can be a bit of a troll sometimes :tongue.gif:)

So, what do you think?
i agree, most of the rage posts are from 6 year olds who play on peaceful and die from starvation because they cant learn
i dont know what those kids are complaining about every time there is a new update its like a whole new world that notch has opened up for us, if there crapy little comps cant run 1.8.1 then there really missing out on something great

What I think is that you mentioned buying Minecraft after the Halloween Update. This was THE update that made Minecraft look more boring. People want the looks of Alpha 1.1.2 (the version right before halloween update) and earlier. I'm not complaining about the new Minecraft OR you post but I bought it at Alpha 1.0.17 (way before halloween update) so I would like those times back... That said I'm glad that you brought out your opinion, now you know mine. Oh, and BTW I'm 14...
I can't say I'm surprised you guys agree with me. Now I think that eventually there'll be an idiot who comes along and says "OMFG U MORON GO TUCH URSELF ASJDHSAJDHAJH"
EDIT:
@GTRacer Well you're not one of the idiots who whines, you stated your opinion calmly. People like you need a nobel prize.
And I never said everyone who doesn't like the New Minecraft needs to go die. :tongue.gif:
People are allowed to give critisism about the game, minecrafts in Beta and content is still being added.
For example, if Notch deicided to added crappy spaceships, there would be a large outcry from the community. This would make Notch change his mind and remove spaceships from the game, or find a solution to satisfy the communiy.
However if some people dislikes the new potion/enchantment system, but others like it they will disagree/flame/troll with the person who dislikes the changes. This is the problem with the forums now. Some dislike the new features, but when they voice their opinion they get shot down by people who like the them.
Either way, people are should be allowed to voice there opinion. Adding a rule about it would stop feedback from the community, which would give Notch no idea what the community wants.
The playerbase should have a say of what will be in the game, as its what people want.
Although just raging gets people nowhere, a rule is needed.
Agree. Just take the game for what it is, and if you don't like it, you have thousands of mods to choose from that can bend the game to your will. Feeding the trolls or not, I still think this is a pretty good post.

If my posts helped you out, how about showing that Rep button some love? :3
I don't see the point of complaining. Notch doesn't read the forums. Notch can do very much anything he wants since it's his game. A few people raging on the forums will do nothing. If people need to vent get a therapist.
I totally agree OP. I miss being able to talk about the fun aspects of Minecraft. For both Discussion and 1.9 discussion the first 2-3 pages of threads are usually trash.
It would be nice if they would just create a Complaints sub-forum to keep those people away from everyone else.
Minecraft is a beta, and if people don't like contact in the beta (the purpose of which is to make the game better based on community feedback), they have the right to voice their displeasures about it. (Though they should be more civilized with their complaints)
But no, seriously, I also agree. I'm a relatively new player (beta 1.7, not too long before 1.8), and I'm loving what has been put into the game so far. The only real complaint I have is more biomes and to tweak the biome generation a bit.
In my opinion, it's okay to give negative feedback. Pure complaining is just silly. So, if you clarify why you don't like something and say what you would do to make it better, then it's fine. Also, complaining about buggy Pre-Releases and 100% optional features is plain stupid.
This, exactly. Part of the problem is that a large number of people complaining are not experienced or mature enough to really form a constructive criticism of a perceived problem. So you end up with people complaining without putting any real thought into a reasonable resolution.
The second issue I see is that too many people are just too lazy to search for a thread already discussing the problem before starting a new topic.

Let me repeat what I had said in the OP;
Kids who whine about the new Minecraft need to shut up.
Not people who dislike the game. Giving constructive criticism is fine if you ask me, but going all caps-lock on the community as if they were the first people to actually post a topic about it is a big pile of retard.
