I was just thinking: There are a lot of good ideas here, and a lot of bad ones. What I am asking for here is NOT silly suggestions like "I dont want flying cows" etc. I want to know things like "I dont want minecraft to have uranium" or "I dont want airplanes; that wouldnt fit with what minecraft is supposed to be" things like that. What are some things you think some people might want and why is it a bad idea?
I'll start.
I dont want pre-made buildings and structures as I have seen others suggest because it takes away the whole idea that this is YOUR world. It makes it feel like an apocalypse game, not a new world sandbox.
I wouldnt want TOO complex stuff, I mean redstone circuits is complex enough, but I've seen INSANELY crazy ideas. I agree with the guns and flying stuff too.
I mean think about it. Technically, with redstone circuts, you could build a whole TV in your world, even though this would take way too long to be practical. who needs guns?
Actually, if you check out the big airship suggestion called "AIRSHIPS: new and improved." and my ornithopter suggestion, you will realize that flying methods of travel, or even combat, can be balanced.
Same with guns. The biggest reason that I see most people hating it for is the fact that it is a gun. If it were a crossbow that acted THE EXACT SAME WAY it would be supported.
I wouldn't want to see uranium or other radioactive materials either though. Most things I see for Uranium and other radioactive stuff is as a super fuel or a Nuke, which just does the same thing as about 50 blocks of TNT, which causes enough lag as it is.
I wouldn't like ideas that too completely tip the balance of Minecraft, albeit how detailed it is, like:

Also, the list of:
Creeper Nerfs

You get the drift. Ideas that completely deter from the MC feel. It'd be okay to include an element or two, but adding a number of items that rival the current amount is ridiculous.

The only games I've seen that have the precision programming that you want for the glider are flight simulators. all other games have a sort of auto-land option. to make a "soft touchdown" a REQUIREMENT would be very difficult. (and soft touchdowns in real life aircraft are EXTREMELY difficult to do; take my word on that)
The reason I dont want a gun is that we already have arrows, and to create anything more powerful than that would take out the challenge of fighting monsters.
I definitely do not want to see Nuclear Weapons on minecraft... It only takes an accident, a KA-BOOM! and your level is completely destroyed. Although, they should make an actual elevator...
I don't want SpaceCraft... Minecraft isn't science fiction, it's more fantasy. (Also, on that note, I would like magic)
Just a side note, if SpaceCraft is implemented, it would most likely be a expansion that you'd have to buy (or you get for free if you have Alpha). It wouldn't be part of the main game.

Anything past the Aether. That's pretty much the last dimension we could possibly deal with before it hits the "World Hopping" ideal of a lot of Sci-Fi games.
I'd like JurassiCraft and SpaceCraft as purchase-only DLC instead of total updates.

The calculations for the ornithopter really aren't all that complicated. Also, when was the last time your read through the thread? It has been changed a lot. Some really good ideas are not in the OP, but are in the thread.
And about the "soft touchdown" thing: Why are you saying that is a bad thing? That is the biggest thing that balances it. It is difficult to fly and takes skill to pilot. That is the biggest thing that makes it balanced. Sure, it's cheap to make. But your gonna crash like 8 or 9 of them before you can finally make a good landing.

I think currency and quests would be OK as long as they are ONLY in the upcoming adventure mode and not in survival
Agreed guns and flying objects are bad ideas, and because you didnt, ill give some reasons:
Number one reason is they make things too easy. game loses all its challenge with these.
also, flying objects would expand the memory capacity far quicker than it would otherwise, and low end computers wouldnt be able to handle it.
If you like waffles, then you must like turtles.
